Uno degli accessori più utili in assoluto...ma di cui quasi nessuno parla: il Multitool.
In questa recensione analizzeremo il Multiuso Ferrino “24 in 1”.

One of the most useful utility...not very esteemed: the Multitool.
In this review we will analyze the Ferrino Multitool “24 in 1”.


La Ferrino non ha certo bisogno di presentazioni, prestigioso marchio italiano per gli equipaggiamenti da alpinismo ed outdooor in genere, per cui, andiamo subito ad analizzare il suo Multiuso.

Ferrino doesn't need to be introduced, being one of the most important brand about italian equipments for mountaineering and outdoor, so, let's go immediately to analyze the Multitool.

Il set è composto dalla pinza multiuso, dalle punte cacciavite e brugola e dalla custodia da cintura ed il suo peso complessivo è di 319gr.

The kit is composed by a pair of multiuse pliers, many screwdrivers and allen wrenches and a belt pouch and the kit's weight is 319gr.




La pinza è prodotta in acciaio inossidabile, il che la rende realmente molto robusta e resistente alle intemperie.
La sua apertura è la medesima dei coltelli “a farfalla”, infatti la pinza può essere comodamente chiusa su se stessa, diventando lunga 11,5cm. e larga 3,5cm.

The pliers is made of Stainlees steel and it's very sturdy and weather resistant.
The opening is the same of the “butterfly” knifes, indeed the pliers could be easily closed in itself, becaming 11,5cm. long and 3,5cm. large.



La pinza è una normale pinza a punta stretta, dotata di tronchese, tenaglie e pinza aggraffatrice. Una volta aperta misura 18cm. di lunghezza.
Sul retro dei due manici è presente un decimetro in grado di misurare 22 cm. con misurazione anche in pollici.

The pliers is a flat-nose pliers, with a pincers, cutting nippers and tongs. Once opened it's 18cm. long.
On the back of the handles there's a double decimeter (centimetres and inches) 22cm. long.




Prima di analizzare gli utensili, uno ad uno, è doveroso spendere qualche parola sul sistema di ritenzione degli stessi.
La basse di tutti gli utensili è arrotondata e dotata di una scanalatura la quale, una volta raggiunta la leva in metallo composta dalla parte dorsale del manico, blocca l'utensile sulla leva stessa.
Per sbloccare l'utensile è necessario aprire parzialmente un altro utensile al fine di allontanare la leva dalla scanalatura.

Before to analyze the tools, one to one, we must to spend few words about the tools lock system.
The base of all the tools is rounded and with a hollow that, once it reach the metal lever of the handle is engaged and the tool is lock.
To unlock the tool you need to open partially another tool to move away the metal lever from the hollow.




Analizziamo, quindi, la parte più interessante della pinza, ovvero gli utensili estraibili.
Il primo utensile è un seghetto a doppio filo invertito, veramente molto funzionale. In grado di tagliare comodamente rami di discrete dimensioni.

So, let's go to analyze the most interesting part of the pliers: the tools.
The first tool is a saw with double inverted cutting edge. It's very useful and you can you it to easily cut branches.



Accanto troviamo il punteruolo passacavi.

To the left we can find the fairlead.




Ed ancora, un punteruolo impiombatore, veramente molto appuntito.

And more, a ferrule to splice. It's very sharp.




Ed infine, come ultimo utensile del manico in questione, l'apri bottiglie.

In the end, as the last tool in this part of the handle, we can find the bottle opener.




Passiamo ora al manico opposto dove troviamo una piccola forbice...

So, let's see the opposite part of the handle, where we can find little scissors...




...ed il supporto calamitato per le punte di cacciavite e brugole.

...and a magnetic base for screwdrivers bits.




Le punte disponibili sono 12 di cui: 3 cacciavite piatti, 3 cacciavite a stella e 6 chiavi a brugola.
Le punte possono essere trasportate nel comodo contenitore in silicone o nell'apposito vano della custodia da cintura.

There are 12 bits: 3 flathead screwsdrivers, 3 crosshead screwdrivers and 6 allen wrenches.
The bits could be carried in the useful silicon carrier or in the dedicated zone of the pouch.




La tasca da cintura in dotazione può essere agganciata in orizzontale o verticale (utile per essere attaccata agli spallacci di uno zaino). Le asole posteriori sono fisse ed è necessario infilarvi la cintura.

Aprendo la patella superiore tramite Velcro, si ha accesso al primo vano studiato per contenere la pinza chiusa. A questo punto, è possibile sganciare un bottone a pressione ed avere accesso alla “rastrelliera” dove possono essere inseriti, in apposite ritenzioni elastiche, tutte le punte.

The belt pouch could be mounted in vertical or horizontal position (useful to attach the pouch on the backpack shoulder pad). The back loops are fixed so you have to introduce the belt through.

Opening the flap (closed by hook-and-loop), you will find the first part to carry the pliers. So, you can open the snap and open the second zone where you will find the screwdrivers and allen wrenches, inserted in their elastic retentions.

TEST SUL CAMPO

Questa pinza multiuso è stata utilizzata per circa 2 anni e lo è tutt'ora. Si è rivelata estremamente utile in gioco, sia per piccoli settaggi delle asg (come la regolazione dell'altezza del motorino, per esempio) che per altri usi sul campo, ma anche nel comune outdoor, trekking e tutte le attività che prevedano un intervento “manuale”.
La pinza è stata esposta più volte all'acqua ed è rimasta bagnata anche per lungo tempo: questo, per i primi sei mesi, non ha intaccato in alcun modo il metallo, grazie alla copiosa oliatura di fabbrica. In seguito, venuta meno l'oliatura, si sono manifestate piccole zone di ruggine, come è possibile vedere in alcune foto, facilmente asportabili con una corposa pulizia e successiva ingrassatura.
Il comportamento di questa pinza è stato decisamente positivo, solo l'uso della pinza senza guanti, talvolta, può risultare fastidioso a causa dei bordi dei manici, non troppo arrotondati.
Sappiamo bene che, nell'ambito dei Softair, la recensione di un Multiuso “Leatherman” avrebbe suscitato molta più curiosità ed interesse, ma reputiamo anche che questo Multiuso “Ferrino”, dal costo di circa 25€, sia un prodotto molto interessante, sia per il rapporto qualità/prezzo, sia per l'ottima funzionalità dell'oggetto.
In pratica, un accessorio più che utile da portare sempre con sé, con un costo assolutamente abbordabile.

TEST OF FIELD

These pleirs have been used for to years and now it's on work too. It's extremely useful during games to do some settings (i.e. to regulate the engine) or other on field uses but also when you do trekking, camping and other outdoor activities.
Pliers was wet by rain a lot of times: for the first 6 months it didn't had any effect, thanks to the generous oiled. After the water made some rust spots you can remove washing and oiling again the pleirs.
The results of the use are very good, only minor trouble using the pleirs without gloves due the not rounded handle border.
We know well that a review about a “Leatherman” Multitool would be more “attractive” than this “Ferrino” Multitool but we think that for the low cost (25€) and the good quality, this multitool it's very interesting.
In the end, a very useful tool to carry in our daily “mission”, with a very low cost.
