New Element High Reflection Tactical Flashlight: Point and shot!


 

High Reflection Tactical Flashlight è il nome commerciale dato da New Element ad una linea di tre torce elettriche compatte, apparentemente differenti fra di loro per la dimensione dell'elemento anteriore e la presenza di un bordo continuo o seghettato.

La torcia che descrivo, fornita da New Element, rientra apparentemente fra le utility light, abbinando compattezza e semplicità. La struttura è cilindrica, realizzata in alluminio, e formata da due elementi avvitati: il corpo luminoso, e l'alloggiamento della batteria con interruttore.

Queste sono le caratteristiche:

  • lunghezza 94 mm

  • diametro massimo 28 mm

  • diametro minimo 19 mm

  • diametro all'impugnatura 21 mm

  • diametro della cupola riflettente: 22 mm

  • peso a vuoto 53 gr

  • peso con batteria 69 gr

  • batteria utilizzata: CR123A da 3 volt.

    La torcia è fornita in una busta di plastica trasparente, senza manuale od accessori. Il sito del produttore non ne fornisce alcuna caratteristica.

Il corpo anteriore è monolitico, a focale fissa. Il fascio luminoso, generato da un singolo led, è diretto all'indietro verso la cupola, e quindi riflesso verso l'esterno.

L'alloggiamento posteriore ospita una singola batteria, e sul fondo ha avvitato un interruttore a pressione, coperto da un elemento in gomma. L'interruttore è protetto da un bordo sporgente, in cui sono ricavate due feritoie per fissare una cinghia.

Sui fianchi dell'alloggiamento sono ricavati due smussi. Su uno è stampato il logo della New Element, sul secondo le indicazioni per la corretta installazione della batteria.

La qualità delle parti è variabile.

Gli elementi in alluminio sono ben lavorati, e coperti da una vernice nera opaca applicata uniformemente. I due elementi principali si avvitano senza difficoltà.

Le parti interne mostrano segni di ossidazione.

Il led è fissato al suo supporto con della colla.

A quanto ho potuto vedere, le possibili vie d'ingresso ad acqua e sporco sono protette da guarnizioni in gomma.

 

 

 

High Reflection Tactical Flashlight is the commercial name given from New Element to a line of three compact flashlights, apparently different among themselves for the size of the front element and the presence of a continuous or serrated edge.

The torch that I describe, provided by New Element, apparently falls between the utility light, combining compactness and simplicity.

The structure is cylindrical, made ​​of aluminum, and consisting of two screwed elements: the lamp head, and the battery housing with switch.

The torch is supplied in a plastic bag, with no manual or accessories. The manufacturer's site does not provide any characteristic.

The front body is monolithic. The fixed focal length light beam, generated by a single LED, is directed backwards towards the dome, and then reflected to the outside.

The rear housing contains a single battery, and screwed on the bottom has a pressure switch, covered by a rubber element. The switch is protected by a protruding edge, in which there are provided two slots to attach a strap.

On the sides of the housing are formed two bevels. New Element logo is printed on one, and on the second the directions for proper battery installation.

The part quality is variable.

The aluminum elements are beautifully carved, and covered by an evenly applied black paint. The two main elements screwed together without difficulty.

The internal parts show signs of oxidation.

The LED is fixed to its support with glue.

From what I could see, the possible entry ways for water and dirt are protected by rubber seals.

In termini di impiego pratico, le piccole dimensioni di questa torcia ne consentono il trasporto senza bisogno di fondine o custodie, semplicemente infilandola in tasca.

La batteria è reperibile nei negozi specializzati in articoli fotografici.

La si impugna in modo confortevole e sicuro, usandola autonomamente o tenendola con la mano debole nel tiro notturno con arma corta.

L'accensione è il punto debole di questa torcia.

Impugnandola normalmente con la parte anteriore fra il mignolo ed il palmo della mano, il pollice non riesce a flettersi abbastanza da premere l'interruttore, e quindi deve essere usata l'altra mano, oppure il dito indice, perdendo la corretta impugnatura.

In uso normale la cosa non crea problemi, ma rende questa flashlight sconsigliabile per un impiego professionale da parte di operatori militari o della sicurezza, salvo che installandola su un'arma lunga.

New Element non indica che siano disponibili anelli di montaggio o comandi remoti dedicati.

Una volta accesa, questa torcia emette un fascio luminoso di forma quadrata, con lato di circa un metro a dieci metri di distanza, e sufficiente a vedere una sagoma umana a circa cinquanta metri.

A distanze airsoft, il fascio si trasforma in un utile strumento di puntamento rapido, con una potenza tale da abbagliare l'avversario, specie se dotato di visori notturni.

Lo svantaggio sta nel fatto che tutto quanto non è colpito dal fascio luminoso diventa di fatto invisibile.

La casa costruttrice non specifica se sia impermeabile, ma le guarnizioni mi fanno credere che resista senza problemi anche sotto una pioggia intensa.

Tirando le somme, si tratta di uno strumento specializzato, da utilizzare prevalentemente se non esclusivamente sui campi di gioco per partite a distanze brevi o medie e montandolo su un fucile, e che con un po' di pratica può offrire un discreto vantaggio quando l'avversario si trovi a meno di una ventina di metri.

New Element not indicates that are available mounting rings or dedicated remote controls.

Once turned on, this flashlight emits a square light beam about one meter of side to ten meters away, and enough to see a human figure to about fifty meters.

At airsoft distances, the beam becomes a useful tool for rapid pointing, with a power that dazzle the opponent, especially if equipped with night vision goggles.

The disadvantage lies in the fact that everything that is not affected by the light beam becomes in fact invisible.

The manufacturer does not specify whether it is waterproof, but I do believe that the seals can withstand without problems even an heavy rain.

Summing up, this is a specialized tool to be used primarily if not exclusively on the playing fields for matches to short or medium distances and mounting it on a gun, and that with a little practice can offer a distinct advantage when opponent is are less than twenty meters.
