Alternativa economica alle torce tattiche da agganciare al copricapo.

Cheap alternative solution on tactical flashlight for headwear. 

 La confezione si presenta davvero molto semplice, formata semplicemente da un supporto in cartone ricoperto da plastica rigida trasparente.
Nessun foglio di istruzioni è presente, ma d'altronde non ce n'è davvero il bisogno. Notiamo con piacere che le due batterie a bottone da 3v (misura 2032) necessarie per l'alimentazione della torcia sono incluse nella confezione.

Come si intuisce dalla figura e dalle scritte in alto a destra, la torcia è costruita per i cappelli stile baseball, cioè con visiera rigida; la luce dichiarata è di tipo ultra brillante, come infatti vedremo durante la prova.

 The packaging is very poor, simply a carton sheet with clear plastic cover.
No instruction manual, but we don't need it really. We appreciate that the two button 3v batteries (size 2032) that supply power to the flashlight are inclosed.
As we can see in the image and text on the right, the flashlight is suitable for baseball cap, with a peak; the declared type of light is “ultra bright”, as we can appreciate during the test.

 Giriamo la torcia e facendo scorrere il coperchio, accediamo al vano batterie.

 Reverse the light and open the battery box.

 Inseriamo le batterie e rimettiamo il coperchio.
Sulla sinistra c'è il pulsante di accensione, in alto vediamo le sedi che ospitano i 5 LED che generano la luce.
La plastica è lucida, molto “giocattolosa”, ma con una stampa ad effetto ruvido.

On the left there is the on/off button, on the top we can see place of 5 LED.
Plastic is glossy, too much “toy effect”, but stamped to appear coarse.

 Vista di profilo: si nota una delle due pinze che tiene la torcia fissata alla visiera del cappellino, semplicemente a pressione. Nutro alcuni dubbi sulla durata dell'integrità di queste pinze, soprattutto dopo aver tolto e riagganciato la torcia numerose volte; sarebbe stato meglio averle costruite in metallo oppure pensare ad un aggancio a vite, anche se questo avrebbe comportato di dover forare la visiera del cappello.

 Side view: we note one of the two clips that hold the flashlight to the cap peak, simply by pressure. I have a lot of doubts on the strenght of these clips, specially after remove and attach many times the flashlight; I think it's better if the clips were made of metal or to make a screw attachment, although it need to pierce the cap peak. 

 Vista frontale: qui possiamo vedere entrambe le pinze, il cui fissaggio è agevolato dalla forma ad arco della torcia per meglio adattarsi alla curvatura della visiera.

I 5 LED sono davvero di dimensioni generose, il che ci fa presagire una buona capacità di illuminazione. Ma tutta questa abbondanza non è detto che sia positiva... vedremo poi perché.

 Frontal view: we see both clips, that can be easily attached because the flashlight it's arch shaped to better adapt to the curved peak.
LEDs are very large, make us thinking that they have a good enlightening power. But this power is not so positive... we will see later the reason.

Si nota che la torcia è completamente nascosta sotto la visiera.

 Vista frontale. Come effetto estetico risulta piuttosto gradevole, assolutamente non invasivo. Resta da provare se indossandolo la torcia crea ingombro o disturba la visuale. Sicuramente il suo leggero peso non crea problemi di stabilità al cappello indossato.

 Frontal view. It's aesthetically pleasing to see, absolutely not invasive. We have to wear the cap and try if the flashlight clutters or covers the visual. Surely it's lightweight and it doesn't unbalance the cap.

 Indossato. La torcia non dà alcun fastidio, perfetto.

 Worn. The flashlight doesn't cause any inconvenience, perfect.

 Spengiamo la luce e accendiamo la torcia: la luce è davvero potente, si capisce come possa facilmente stordire e causare la momentanea impossibilità di vedere a chi ne venisse investito mentre i suoi occhi sono abituati all'oscurità.

Ma tutta questa potenza, come dicevamo prima, nasconde un difetto non trascurabile...

 Turn off the light and turn on the flashlight: the emitted light is very bright, we can easily stun enemy and make him unable to see if his eyes are accustomed to darkness.
But this power, as we write before, hide a big inconvenience...

 Torcia accesa, ma senza guardarla direttamente. Luminosa, ma dato che è una torcia a LED, il fascio di luce non risulta visibile.

 Flashlight on, seen undirectly. Bright, but since it's a LED flashlight, the light beam is not visible.

 Il fascio generato è molto ristretto, cosa utile per evitare dispersione di luce in angolature inutili e concentrare la potenza di illuminazione solo dove serve, cioè dove stiamo guardando.

 The beam is very narrow, useful to avoid waste of light at sides and to concentrate the light only where we are watching.

 Illuminando una parete vicina, notiamo l'alone luminoso che si crea, lasciando ben intravedere il profilo del viso e della visiera del cappello.

 Conclusioni

Premettiamo che la torcia nasce come accessorio per la pesca notturna e l'outdoor, non stiamo parlando un accessorio tattico da combattimento.
Il costo è irrisorio, parliamo di soli 5 euro incluse le batterie. La torcia si rivela utile per illuminare zone buie o interni di grotte, edifici o altro, cosa che riesce a fare molto facilmente data la sua potenza.
Ma, come accennavamo prima, il lato negativo di tutta questa capacità illuminante è dato dal fatto che non è possibile l'accensione di un solo LED oppure regolarne l'intensità. Le uniche due opzioni sono spento o completamente acceso a pieno regime.
Questo ne limita fortemente l'impiego in ambito soft air, precludendo il suo utilizzo a situazioni come la consultazione di una mappa, navigazione, o tutte le altre situazioni di movimento stealth in cui si ha bisogno solo di una minima quantità di luce che ci permetta di vedere quello che stiamo facendo ma senza risultare visibile a distanza.
Ricordiamoci che di notte il bosco non è come una città, dove le luci anche diradate creano quell'effetto di illuminazione soffusa, ma c'è buio completo, dove una piccola luce è visibile anche a grandi distanze. 

 Conclusions 

We must say first that this flashlight born as an accessory for outdoor, camping or fishing, we are not talking about a tactical combat accessory.
It's very cheap, it costs about 5 euros including batteries. This flashlight is useful to illuminate dark areas, caves or building interiors and this flashlight can make it easily thanks to its power.
But as we write before, the fault of this lightening power is that it's only possible to turn on all the LED, you can't turn on only one LED or with low intensity. The only two options are off or completely on with its maximum power.
This feature restricts its employment in airsoft games, foreclosing the use when you must read a map, when you move during the night or in all stealth situations, when we need a low light that make us able to see what we are doing without allow enemies to see us from distance.

We must rember always that the night in wood it's not as in the city, where there is always a soft lighting, it's completely dark and also a small light can be seen from a long distance.
