 Negli ultimi anni , visti i continui sviluppi di impieghi dei militari in operazioni sparse per tutto il mondo, e visto il continuo prograddire della tecnologia nel campo della visione notturna si cerca di equipaggiare i militari con sistemi di luci di segnalazione visibile e infrarosso per favorire l'individuazione di truppe alleate sia da terra ma soprattutto dall'aria questo per ridurre i casi di BLUE su BLUE.
Fino a qualche anno fa le luci di segnalazioen erano di dimensioni notevoli per le capacità che avevano basti pensare che il top  era la luce strobo MS2000 prodotta dalla ACR ,mentre ultimamente si è cercato di ridurre le dimensioni e aumentare le funzioni  di utilizzo, qui la S&S Precision ha lanciato sul mercato la manta strobe.
Ed è proprio di questo modello di luce di segnalazione che la Element ,nostro sponsor , ha riprodotto in replica, che da qualche giorno mi ritrovo tra le mani.

 La confezione si presenta compatta in plastica trasparente che ci  fa vedere all’interno il prodotto.

 Nella parte posteriore è presente un foglio illustrativo con  le istruzioni per l’utilizzo e le varie tipologie di luci  prodotte per la matra dalla element.

La luce di segnalazione è stata prodotta con due  colorazioni esterne nera e tan , queste si differenziano solo nella colorazione della base  e del tappo del vano batteria , mentre il corpo principale risulta in plastica rigida trasparente , inoltre tre tipologie di luce visibile:  rossa, verde e blu tutte associate alla luce infrared.

La scelta del colore delle luci visibili è possibile grazie alla colorazione della base dei circuiti elettrici visibile dall’esterno anche attraverso la confezione  , nel caso dei modelli in prova la base dei circuiti elettrici è verde e la luce di segnalazione risulta verde.

 Aprendo la confezione si trovano  le seguenti  , il corpo della luce , un vecro adesivo della grandezza della luce , un lacciolo di sicurezza  e il foglio delle istruzioni .

 Le dimensioni della luce sono ridotte alla pari di un pacchetto di sigarette con una lunghezza di  9 cm (3.5 “) una larghezza di 5.5 cm (2.1”) e un altezza di 3,5 cm (1.4 “) quindi anche di piccolo ingombro quando montata.

Notando bene la base della luce non è perfettamente diritta , ma leggermente concava , questo per fare aderire al meglio la luce quando montata sull ‘elmetto , inoltre troviamo cinque fori con relative viti a croce che garantiscono l’unione della base con il corpo  e che ci permette di accedere alla parte elettrica della luce , cosa che a mio parere non è necessaria.

ll primo  step  è quello di montare il vecro adesivo sulla base  inferiore della luce ,il montaggio è semplice ed intuitivo , questo permetterà di montare la luce sopra gli elmetti dato che oramai sono pieni di velcri  per attaccare qualsiasi accessorio di identificazione e varie pach.

 Ultimo step ma il più importante  è quello di rendere “operativa” la luce .

L’alimentazione è data da una batteria da 3 volt mod CR123 (non compresa) .Il vano è accessibile svitando il tappo di accensione , il positivo della batteria  và inserito verso il corpo della luce come riportato anche dal foglio illustrativo.

Una volta inserita  la batteria passiamo all’accensione della luce .

Pigiando sul pulsante posto sul tappo del vano della batteria la luce emette tre vibrazioni , che trasmettono anche indossando l’elmetto l’avviso che la luce strobo è accesa.

 Last but most important step is to make "operational" light.

 Per passare d al luce strobo ad intermittenza a luce visibile basta pigiare simultaneamente i due tasti posti ai lati del corpo della luce , cosi passiamo dalla luce infra-red a luce visibile nel nostro caso verde.  La luce emetterà altre due  vibrazioni con all’accensione questo per avvisare l’operatore che ha lasciato la modalità infra-red ed è passato alla luce visibile.

 nota dolente ………… alla fine delle prove staccando uno dei due campioni in prova dall’elmetto  è successo questo...........

 In pratica le cinque innesti in plastica che permettono di fissare tramite le viti il corpo della luce alla base si sono tutti spezzati .

Questo è successo solo in una delle due luci utilizzate per la prova, e ambedue hanno avuto lo stesso trattamento .

Dato che abbiamo la possibilità involontaria di aver accesso ai circuiti elettrici vediamo cosa troviamo!!

Usando una pinzetta sono andato a rimuovere con facilità, dalla copertura trasparente il pannello con i circuiti elettrici scoprendo che le vibrazioni  sono date dal particolare evidenziato nella foto sottostante, con la lettera  A ed è quel cerchio metallico collegato con i cavo rosso e blu che trova alloggiamento al cento alto della base del circuito, evidenziata in colore giallo il quale una volta accesa la luce o quando passa da modalità Infra red a luce visibile vibra trasmettendo la vibrazione a tutta la luce e quindi all’elmetto su cui e montata.

 Prove sul campo.

In una domenica di gioco diurno  in ambiente boschivo ho voluto provare    ad usare la luce non tanto per la sua funzione di segnalazione ma per vedere se durante i vari movimenti tra la vegetazione ,che assicuro era fitta , quella protuberanza montata sopra il mio elmetto poteva creare qualche problema , del tipo improvviso cedimento del velcro  rottura del corpo della luce , ecc

Dopo quattro ore di gioco intenso tra rovi e vegetazione la luce e rimasta “INCOLALTA “  dove l’avevo  montata  non creando nessun problema di rottura o cedimento .

Quindi un giudizio più che positivo.

 Field tests.

Conclusioni.

Sicuramente la replica della manta strobe è molto realistica sia nelle dimensioni , fattura , e funzioni , un ottimo accessorio, utile per segnalare la propria presenza durante un game notturno sia in modalità infra red che in modalità visibile e poi fa scena.

unica nota dolente peccato per l’inconveniente di rottura.

Conclusions.
