La Arktis Limited.

 

 

La Arktis Limited è un’azienda molto nota nel settore degli equipaggiamenti militari.
Ha sede a Exeter, nel Regno Unito, nelle vicinanze del Centro di Addestramento dei Royal Marine.
Dal 1985 produce abbigliamento militare ed attrezzature di qualità indiscussa, molto utilizzate dagli eserciti europei, molto poco da tutti gli altri.
Dopo la nota e fortunata serie di vest 1600, Tim Holden (Managing Director della A.L) ci propone qualcosa di molto differente.

The Arktis Limited is a well-known Firm in the field of military equipment.
It is based in Exeter, UK, near the Royal Marine Training Centre.
Since 1985, produces military clothing and equipment of undisputed quality, widely used by European armies, very little from the others.
After the note and successful series of tactical vest named 1600, Tim Holden (Managing Director of AL) is proposing something very different.

Il nome stesso del prodotto la dice molto lunga: questo non è un tattico militare.
E' un giubbetto tattico per il personale di sicurezza (armato).

Ha un aspetto molto insolito per gli standard di vest tattici a cui si è abituati: una via di mezzo tra un giubbino di emergenza per piloti ed un capo di abbigliamento civile, un gilet per fotografi.

 

La base è in rete, color sabbia, taglia unica (Large) e regolabile tramite due ampi velcri sulle spalle e minuterie plastiche sul retro.
Superiormente troviamo due strisce velcrate atte ad adattare il vest su diverse corporature.
Sicuramente semplici, ma efficaci. È possibile regolarle tenendo il vest indossato e completamente carico.

 

 

L'unico problema di questa soluzione consiste nella veloce usura dei velcri, specie in ambienti desertici dove è facile che la sabbia vi si depositi.

The name of the product speaks very long: this is not a military vest.
It 's a tactical vest for security personnel (armed).
It looks very unusual for standard tactical vest you know: a cross between a photographers jacket and an emergency pilot vest.
The base is made of nylon net, in sand color, with one size (Large) and adjustable via two wide shoulder straps and small plastic on the back.
Above are two Velcro strips designed to adapt to different body vest.
Certainly simple, but effective. You can adjust the bearing vest worn and fully charged.
The only problem with this is the rapid wear of the straps, especially in desert environments where it is likely that the sand will settle.

Davanti presenta in un totale di 6 tasche esterne, più quattro interne.
Non sembra molto ma lo spazio è ben gestito.
In alto a destra troviamo una tasca con patta orizzontale, la cui chiusura avviene su due punti (a seconda del materiale che andremo a stivare al suo interno) tramite automatico in metallo.

 

Dalla parte opposta una tasca porta radio universale, qualsiasi modello (escluse le grandi VHF) vi troverà posto, grazie ad un sistema di chiusura che permette di adattare la tasca in base all'apparato che sceglieremo di inserire. Si infila la radio, si chiude il bottone superiore e si stringe la fettuccia di chiusura fino a che le dimensioni della radio lo rendono necessario. Non bello, probabilmente, ma pratico.

 

Sotto a queste due tasche, troviamo 4 tasche porta serbatoi per arma lunga.

 

 

A prima vista sembra siano studiate esclusivamente per AK e derivati o MP5: in realtà all'interno sono sistemati due "adattatori" per alloggiare praticamente ogni tipo di caricatore. Il primo adattatore consiste in un semplice quadrato di gommapiuma bianca, sistemato all'interno della tasca, che consentirebbe di utilizzare serbatoi per G3 e similari (m14, SR25).

 

 

Il secondo adattatore (nel caso fosse necessario alloggiare caricatori diversi da quelli citati finora) consiste in una fettuccia con il terminale velcrato che unito al velcro interno della tasca, permette di usare caricatori di ogni genere. Spostando la linguetta velcrata verso l'alto o il basso, andremo ad aumentare o a diminuire la profondità della tasca.

 

In the front it has a total of 6 external pockets, plus four internal .

Not beautiful, perhaps, but practical.
Under these two pockets we have 4 pockets for the main weapons.
At first glance seem to be designed exclusively for AK or MP5 and derivatives: in fact, are arranged in two "adapters" to accommodate virtually every type of magazine. The first adapter is a simple square of white foam, placed inside the pocket, which would use tanks and similar G3 (M14, SR25).
The second adapter (in case you need to stow magazine different from than those mentioned so far) is in a sling with Velcro attached to the terminal inside Velcro pocket, that allows the use of magazine of all kinds.
Moving the Velcro tab up or down, we're going to increase or reduce the depth of the pocket.

L'unico difetto riscontrato è la chiusura: di nuovo abbiamo a che fare con bottoni in metallo, che spinti con decisione chiudono perfettamente le tasche. Il problema risiede nel fatto che ogni tanto i bottoni in questione si rifiutano di aprirsi o chiudersi senza esitazioni, ma il difetto sparisce non appena si comincia ad usare un po' il vest.

Nella zona centrale troviamo le tre "classiche" cerniere, che caratterizzano buona parte della produzione artkis.
Quella centrale è la cerniera di chiusura (sotto alla quale troviamo ancora due fastex, utili per avvicinare le due parti di un Vest 1601 molto carico e facilitarne la chiusura, un pò meno utili in questo caso), mentre le due laterali ospitano 1 fondina interna a sx (adatta a grandi automatiche come la SiG226 e similari) e due portacaricatori per serbatoi da pistola o smg a dx.
Entrambe le tasche sono comunque utilizzabili per alloggiare documenti o oggetti poco voluminosi (preferibilmente morbidi, vista la corrispondenza con le costole...).

 

Lateralmente alla 1° ed alla 4° tasca portacaricatori, troviamo le ultime due tasche interne, chiuse da una cerniera abbastanza sottile che, personalmente, trovo difficilmente raggiungibili.

 

Sul lato posteriore troviamo altre affinità del capo in oggetto con i famosi giubbetti survival da pilota.
La parte posteriore è costruita in modo da avere meno materiale possibile appoggiato sulla schiena, in modo da garantire un minimo di comfort quando si è costretti per lungo tempo a rimanere seduti a bordo di un veicolo.

 

Due fasce regolano le dimensioni del giubbetto, che essendo comunque molto largo, è adatto ad essere utilizzato al di sopra di un giubbetto antiproiettile.

That is the central zip closure (under which we still find two Fastex, useful for bringing the two parts of a 1601 Vest much easier loading and closing, a little less useful in this case), in the left we have an internal holster left (suitable for large frame automatic pistols like SiG226 and similar) and two pouches for shells from a pistol or smg on the right.
Both pockets are still used to house documents, or objects very large (preferably soft, given the correspondence to the ribs ...).
On the side of the 1st and 4th pouches, are the last two inside pockets, closed by a zipper thin enough that, personally, I find difficult to reach.
The back of the vest got similarities with the famous pilot's survival vests.
Is constructed to have less material can be placed on the back, to ensure a minimum of comfort when you are forced to remain seated for long periods on board a vehicle.
Two groups regulating the size of the jacket, which, being still very large, is suitable for use over a bulletproof vest.

In conclusione, questo è un modello assolutamente atipico.
E' sicuramente valido nel caso di un utilizzo professionale, dato che pur mantenendo ingombri adatti ad essere portato al di sotto di una giacca, permette di portare una dotazione discreta per servizi di sicurezza.
Per il softair, è adatto giusto nel caso si voglia partecipare ad un combat veloce, con il minimo indispensabile (serbatoi per asg, radio e batterie di scorta trovano posto, come anche una pistola di backup con relativi serbatoi).

In conclusion, this is a very atypical product.
And certainly valid in the case of professional use, since space, while maintaining suitable to be worn under a jacket, can bring a discreet equipment for security services.
For airsoft, it is suitable just in case you want to participate to a fast combat, with the bare minimum (ASG mag, radios and spare batteries, as well as a backup gun).

 

Il marchio Artkis è una garanzia di qualità ed affidabilità e visto il costo a cui si può reperire il vest presso i negozi on-line, vale quasi la pena di acquistarlo solo per affiancarlo ai jungle vest 1600 e successivi.

PRO: LEGGERO, ECONOMICO, PRATICO.
CONTRO: chiusura delle tasche perfettibile, soluzioni spartane e Cordura non proprio convincente. Poco capiente.

The Artkis brand is a guarantee of quality and reliability and given the cost that you can find the vest at online stores, that is almost worth buying just to add it to the jungle vest 1600 series and thereafter.

PRO: light, cheap, practical.
CONS: closing pockets perfectible, rude solutions and cordura fabric not really convincing. Low carrying capacity.
