The Plate Carrier, in modern military operations, are a necessary equipment to protect the operator as possible by bullets fired from small arms.
Over the years we have gone from bulky armor ineffective against heavy bullets fired from rifle like the german Mauser 98k or the Italian Carcano 91, to other less bulky (just think of IBA complete with ballistic collar, shoulder guards and groin plate) but with highest performance against the bullets of the omnipresent AK47 and its clones.
In airsoft, are practically useless, but are widely used to impart a realistic look to gamer's setup.

Il plate carrier che andiamo ad analizzare è un modello praticamente indefinito, nato sulla scia dei più famosi CIRAS / FSBE (li cito entrambi perchè in se riporta alcune caratteristiche riscontrabili sui modelli sopracitati), consigliato a corporature medie e grandi.

Il Plate Carrier è formato da 4 sezioni:
- frontale (di serie con 2 tasche porta caricatori STANAG e una per caricatori da pistola)

- destra e sinistra (con doppio porta caricatori integrato)

E' realizzato completamente in cordura a 1000 denari, cucito con filo di nylon molto robusto e si notano più passaggi, specialmente nelle zone sottoposte a maggiore stress.
It's made in good 1000 denier Cordura, sewn with very durable nylon thread, with more passes, on the area under greater stress.




Nell'insieme da un senso di robustezza molto gradevole.

La parte frontale presenta spazio per le tasche di serie e una admin pouch o un porta mappa
Nelle parti laterali oltre ai caricatori di emergenza si possono attaccare in maniera molto salda una tasca per caricatori vuoti, una utility o altri tipi di tasche ingombranti.
Le tasche per i caricatori di emergenza sono forse troppo profonde e i caricatori tendono a scomparire, sarebbe ideale inserire un pezzo di gommapiuma sul fondo delle tasche così da far restare più in alto i caricatori, oppure utilizzare estrattori Magpul(R) di tipo tradizionale.
Nella parte posteriore possiamo agganciare uno zainetto tattico o una sacca di idratazione o altre tasche a scelta. La superficie è veramente ampia.
The plate carrier has plenty of room, maybe too much.
In the front, can be placed an admin pouch, close to the double pouch for pistol magazine.
Laterally, it may be attached a dump pouch for exhausted magazines above the internal magazine pouch, which is too depth. A quick remedy may be the using of MAGPUL(R) or some foam placed in the bottom of the pouch.
In the back we can hang a tactical backpack or a hydration bag.

Appena indossato ci si accorge che non è facile da regolare per corporature piccole, o medie con solo una T-Shirt, resta abbastanza largo.
Questo dipende anche dalla presenza delle regolazioni interne, sicuramente studiate a fondo, ma poco pratiche nell'uso.
Just wearing it, we realize that this plata carrier is a "no go" for skinny people.
The inside regulation can be well studied, but absolutely not pratical.

Il velcro è molto forte (e rumoroso!) e mantiene bene le regolazioni, inoltre i fastex sono ben realizzati con una plastica elastica che mantiene la propria integrità anche se stressati oltre il necessario.
Sono assolutamente anonimi.
The velcro is very strong (and noisy!) and maintains well all the adjustments, also fastex are well made with a flexible plastic that maintains its integrity even if stressed beyond what is necessary.
but they are absolutely anonymous.




La prova sul campo.
Field Test

Durante i test sul campo si è dimostrato molto comodo, all'inizio ero scettico ma mi son ricreduto. La distribuzione del peso risulta ottimale e anche la gommapiuma delle finte piastre non induce surriscaldamenti (e nella giornata in cui ho fatto il test vi erano circa 20°C di temperatura esterna), va regolato bene soprattutto in altezza per evitare che da accucciati la piastra frontale non urti contro le cosce.
Le regolazioni e i fastex reggono lo stress generato da salti e corse senza staccarsi o allentarsi di un millimetro, non sarebbe carino che dopo un salto ci si ritrovi il PC sui piedi!
During the field test has proved to be very comfy.

Il tattico, pur avendo spazio per tasche di ogni forma e dimensione, è adatto a partite veloci, magari non in piena estate.
Il peso del tattico poggia praticamene solo sulle spalle e questo potrebbe portare ad affaticamento all'utilizzatore, specialmente se di costituzione snella.
This plate carrier, as witten before, has enough room for every kind of pouches, but it is suitable for fast game, maybe not in summer!
The weight is supported only by the shoulders and this is not suitable for players of thin constitution .

Conclusioni finali.
Pro: Buoni materiali, realizzazione curata.
Contro: Plate carrier anonimo, scomodo se utilizzato da giocatori di taglia ridotta.
