Il modello analizzato è il Desert Ops Boot dell’americana Blackhawk! (d'ora in avanti BHI).
La BHI è un’azienda nata nel 1993, fondata dall’ex Navy Seals Mike Noell, noto per la sua precisione (quasi ossessiva) nella cura dell’attrezzatura.
Oggi, i suoi prodotti equipaggiano moltissimi operatori, forze speciali comprese, a livello mondiale.

The model analyzed is the Desert OPS Boot from the american Blackhawk! (henceforth BHI).
The BHI is a company born in 1993, founded by former Navy Seals Mike Noell, well known for its accuracy (almost obsessive) in the care of the equipment.
Today, its products equip many operators, including special forces, worldwide.

Specifiche tecniche:
- Suola in Vibram ® “Multisport” gommata con disegno “Trek”. Resistente agli Olii.
- Suola interna adatta all’uso per lungo tempo, resistente all’acqua.
- Esterno in cordura / pelle scamosciata.
- Gambale con iniezione di materiale termoplastico, per assicurare il comfort nel caso si trasportino carichi gravosi.
- Soletta in Ortholite ®, lavabile, antibatterica, con struttura a celle per garantire il passaggio dell’aria e mantenere il piede fresco. L’Ortholite apporta dal 95% al 100% di respirabilità in più rispetto ad una soletta tradizionale.
- Fodera interna in Dri-lex ®
- Altezza 8’’
- Supporto alla caviglia da 2’’.
- Punta e tacco rinforzati e ricoperto in gomma, per una maggiore stabilità.
- Chiusura superiore e linguetta ottimizzate per prevenire l’ingresso di detriti e sporcizia.

Lo stivaletto, creato per la necessità di avere una calzatura comoda e robusta da utilizzarsi in area desertica / urbana, è realizzato secondo le più moderne tecnologie.
Le numerose etichette di cartoncino allegate agli stivaletti, testimoniano la quantità di prodotti brevettati utilizzati per la loro fabbricazione.

The boots, created for the need of a strong and comfortable footwear to use in desert area / urban, is made with the latest technology.
The numerous cardboard labels attached to boots, express the amount of patented products used for their manufacture.

Ad un primo esame, lo stivaletto si rivela molto leggero e ben realizzato, anche se apparentemente troppo “caldo”.
Le cuciture robuste non presentano tracce di errori di lavorazione.
Il disegno della tassellatura non convince: è molto leggera e poco pronunciata.
D'altra parte si tratta di un anfibio destinato ad impiego urbano/desertico.

At first appearance, the boot proves to be very light and well made, although apparently too "hot."
The seams do not show traces of processing errors.
The design of the tiling is not convincing: it is very light, I think it's because of it's destination of use.

 

Una volta calzati, i BHI rivelano di essere quanto di più comodo provato fino ad ora dal sottoscritto.
L’imbottitura interna avvolge il piede in maniera eccellente, mentre la soletta di mezzo scarica perfettamente ogni passo, rendendo quasi la sensazione di “saltellare”.
Le chiusure sono buone, anche se, personalmente, avrei optato per un sistema “quick lace”, molto più pratico.

Once shod, the BHI revealed to be the most comfortable boots tried so far by myself.
The padding wraps the foot in an excellent manner, while the innersole discharge perfectly every step, making the impression of "jumping".
The closures are good, although personally I would have opted for a "quick lace" closing system, much more practical.

Una breve corsa, di circa 2 km, intervallata da camminata veloce, mi ha consentito di provare l’effettiva traspirabilità degli stivaletti.Nonostante la temperatura esterna molto alta, il piede rimane tutto sommato fresco.Di nuovo, la triade di suola, mezzasuola e soletta, si dimostra efficace nello scaricare il passo, mantenendo il livello di stress delle articolazioni quasi inesistente.

In montagna invece, lo stivaletto mi ha ricordato del perchè sia riportata la parola “desert” nel suo nome, rendendo difficoltosa la progressione sul terreno roccioso, ma ha comunque garantito un grip tutto sommato buono.
Al contrario di quanto indicato, il grip della punta è inefficace, rendendo impegnativo e poco sicuro affrontare pendenze accentuate.
Ho testato l'impermeabilità affrontando un leggero guado ed il modello ha garantito l'impermeabilità decantata dalle specifiche tecniche.

CONCLUSIONI:
PRO: Ottimi materiali, ottime finiture, comfort elevatissimo.
CONTRO: Grip anteriore risibile, soluzioni perfettibili.

Ci troviamo di fronte ad un ottimo paio di calzature che unisce il “bello” all’utile.
Mi sento di consigliarle però solo per utilizzo urbano o sterrato leggero in quanto la grip della suola non è adatta a terreni impervi o duri.

A short ride, about 2 miles, punctuated by fast walking, I was allowed to prove the actual transpiration of boots.
Despite the outside temperature very high, the foot stays cool after all.
Again, the triad of sole, middlesole and insole, proves successful in downloading the step, keeping the stress level of the joints almost nonexistent.

In the mountains however, the boots reminded why it is given the word "desert" in his name, making the proression on hard terrain a little difficult, but still ensure a good grip altogether.
Contrary to above, the grip of the tip is ineffective, making it difficult and unsafe to tackle inclines.
I tested the waterproof facing a small ford and the model has guaranteed waterproof praised by the technical specifications.

CONCLUSIONS:
PRO: Excellent materials, very good quality, high comfort.
CONS: Front Grip laughable, being perfect.

We are facing with a great pair of shoes that combines the "beauty" with the profit.
I would advise it, but only for urban or light dirt use as the grip of the sole is not suitable for rough or hard terrain.
