Normalmente, le repliche low cost cinesi godono di pessima fama.
Materiali scadenti, realizzazioni approssimative, un disastro su tutti i fronti.
Con questa recensione vediamo nel dettaglio due repliche che, nonostante il costo relativamente basso, sono costruite con un certo criterio qualitativo.
I vest in questione, realizzati dalla Pantac e dalla Flyye, sono stati acquistati 2 anni fa, li recensisco solo ora dopo averne constatato pro e contro, in un periodo di tempo relativamente lungo.
Normally the cheap chinese made gear is know to be made with poor quality materials and realization.
With this reviews, we get the details of two replicas, made from Pantac e Flyye, that brake this stereotypes.
I got this two Rhodesian Recon Vest replicas about two years ago, and I wrote this reviews only today, after some use on the field.

The Firm: Pantac & Flyye
La Pantac nasce nel 2005 con il nome di Phantom, dagli stessi giocatori che dal 1999 di occupano di softair in Cina. Il marchio Phantom si distingue da subito per la creazioni di copie del materiale Eagle Industries. Il materiale è di fattura medio-bassa, ma i progetti sono palesemente copiati dal noto marchi americano. Varie controversie, anche interne (sempre secondo le voci), lo portano nel 2007 a sparire ed rinascere come Pantac.
Stando al loro sito, oggi la compagnia conta più di 100 impiegati e produce annualmente centinaia di vest e tasche. Vantano la fornitura a reparti quali: le Forze Speciali Canadesi, l'US Army Engineering team, il Dipartimento di Polizia del Sud Africa, la Polizia Cinese e diversi PMC in giro per il mondo.
A proposito dei materiali, descrivono la propria produzione come formata da: Cordura Invista a 1000 denari, minuterie plastiche UTX e ITW Nexus, cerniere YKK
The PANTAC was founded in 2005 under the name of Phantom, by the same players that deal with airsoft in China, since 1999.
The Phantom brand produced copies of Eagle Industries's products, with more and more less accuracy, and poor materials. Various disputes, including internal (according to rumors), led him in 2007 to disappear and be reborn as PANTAC.
According to their site, today the Company employs more than 100 employees and annually produces hundreds of vest and pockets. They claim to equip military operators like: the Canadian Special Forces, the U.S. Army Engineering team, the Police Department of South Africa, the Chinese police and other PMC around the world.
Speaking of materials, the Pantac describe its production as consisting of: 1000 denier Cordura Invista, small plastic UTX and ITW Nexus, YKK zippers.
Sulla Flyye confesso di non aver trovato molto. Compare all'inizio del 2008 con un catalogo alquanto imbarazzante, dal punto di vista qualitativo e nel giro di pochi mesi dismette sia la cordura fasulla che altre caratteristiche poco professionali e presenta all'inizio del 2009 un nuovo repertorio veramente notevole, specialmente per la quantità di prodotti, il prezzo molto contenuto ed i materiali questa volta credibili.
Il campionario di prodotti è sempre basato sulla produzione Eagle Industries, più qualche aggiunta di HSGI, esattamente come la Pantac. Viene spontaneo chiedersi come sia possibile che entrambe le società, basate in Cina, abbiano a catalogo prodotti così simili.
On the history of Flyye, I found few information.
It appears at the beginning of 2008 with an embarassing catalog or product, in terms of quality and, within a few months, disposes both the fake cordura that various unprofessional habits. In 2009, show a new repertoire truly remarkable, especially for the amount of products, the very low price and the better materials.
The collection of products is always production-based Eagle Industries, plus some added HSGI, just like PANTAC. You wonder how it is possible that both companies based in China, have a product catalog so similar.

The Rhodesian Recon Vest.
Il Rhodesian Recon Vest (che chiamerò RRV per sintesi) è praticamente uno dei vest “simbolo” della Eagle Industries (EI). Consiste in una base modulare a doppia compatibilità, permette quindi di montare sia tasche MOLLE che ALICE, ancora molto diffuso, e non solo tra i reparti di seconda linea. Sul retro del vest è presente una sede nata per alloggiare piastre ceramiche antiproiettile.
Un sistema di fastex gli permette di esere compatibile con altri prodotti EI, in modo da poterlo configurare come meglio si crede, tanto da divenire, se collegato agli appositi accessori, un body armor completo.
Del vest originale, non parlerò oltre.
The Rhodesian Recon Vest (or RRV) is one of the "symbols" of the Eagle Industries (EI).
It consists in a basic modular vest, with dual compatibility, for both MOLLE e ALICE pouches.
On the back of the vest is located a pouch created to contain ceramic armor plates.
The modular system allows you to combine it with other products Eagle Industries, transforming, if necessary, in a full body armor.
Pantac Recon Vest
Il vest in questione è stato acquistato due anni fa circa presso il noto rivenditore WGC Shop, assieme ad alcune tasche, di modo da poter valutare il lavoro della Pantac su più prodotti.
Il colore scelto è il Coyote Brown, molto in voga. Ecco una prima sopresa: rispetto ad altre marche il coyote si presenta parecchio più scuro.
The RRV bought by me a couple of years ago, from WGC Shop, with some pouches, in order to test the Pantac's quality.
I chose the coyote brown for "fashion" reason, but here I got the first surprise: the CB is darker than the other brands.
Il vest è in realtà un chest rig, che presenta 8 file di pals in totale. 4 nella parte più alta e 4 in quella più bassa, ovviamente di lunghezze diverse.
Tra le 4 file di pals della parte più larga, troviamo due file di attacchi Alice, che nella fotografia risultano più visibili in quanto realizzati in materiale più lucido.
This "vest" is pratically a chest rig, with 8 row of pals, 4 in the upper side, 4 in the lower. With different lenghts.
On the larger pals area, we found 2 row of ALICE attachment, the shiny pals in photo.
Il vest è stato equipaggiato con tasche di marche diverse, riscontrando la completa compatibilità con materiale “originale”.
La confezione del vest comprende: il vest, una fettuccia di cordura che permette di passare dal sistema di spallacci ad “X” a quello ad “H”, 8 fermafettuccia elastici (6 piccoli, 2 grandi), 4 strisce di cordura con bottone automatico in metallo, 2 delle quali con fastex sul finale, atte a fissare la sacca idratazione sul retro, anche questa in stile EI.
The vest is equipped with differente brand pouches, in order to get the confirmation of the full compatibilty with "hi-cost" pouches.
The RRV comes with 1 pieces of cordura, to convert the clousure system (from "X" to "H"), 8 tubular webbing stopper (6 small, 2 big) and 4 webbing with metal button on the and, to link the vest with the hidration carrier, copy of EI also.
Personalmente, ho deciso di rimuovere i fastex in favore di più comuni ganci in plastica, questo per poter montare una comune vescica Camelbak sul retro del vest, utilizzando i D-ring, propri della fodera. Esteticamente non sarà bello, ma l'aggancio è solido e resistente.
Personally, I choose to get off the fastex and substitute that with more common plastic hook, to use the vest with a normal Camelbak reservoir, using the "D-ring" on the back.
Frontalmente, nella parte bassa del vest è prevista una tasca interna da utilizzare come fondina, con al suo interno una fascia elastica di grandi dimensioni.
On the front, in the lower side, a internal pouch with a retention system.
Superiormente, il pannello frontale contiene anch'esso una tasca di piccole dimensioni.
In the higher side, a smaller pouch.
All'occorrenza, questa parte può essere liberata e ripiegata, in modo da poter portare il vest come un classico chest rig.
If needed, the higher part can be teared down, to use the vest like a classic chest rig
Gli spallacci sono larghi ed imbottiti discretamente, hanno passanti in cordura per fissare altre tasche e striscie elastiche entro cui far passare cavi radio o tubi del camelbak.
The shoulder pad, wide and well padded, had some webbing on the front, to fix pouches and elastic webbig to secure radio wire and hydration tubes.
Possono essere fissati posteriormente ad “X” o, montando l'apposito accessorio, ad “H”, che permette di vestire più comodamente il tattico nel caso si portino giubbetti antiproiettile o body armor.
They can be fixed on the back with the "X" scheme or in the "H" scheme, if the vest was carried on a body armor with SAPI plates.
Sul retro, si nota immediatamente la tasca in rete porta piastra balistica (utile, per noi giocatori di softair, nel caso il vest risulti troppo largo...), con il sistema di ritegno.
On the back, you can see the SAPI plates pouch.
Nella parte bassa troviamo dei bottoni automatici, maschi e femmine, che vengono utilizzati nel caso sia necessario “accorciare” il vest.
On the lower side, we can find some metallic button, male and female, to short the vest.
Centralmente spicca il logo della società, in materiale gommato. Opinabile.
The Firm patch, rubber-made.
Ai lati, nella parte inferiore del vest si trova il fastex di chiusura posteriore, di generose dimensioni, che personalmente ho trovato solido, ma molto difficile da azionare.
On the side, we have the main clousure fastex, very solid, but difficult to operate.
A causa della mia comica costituzione fisica ho dovuto stringere il vest al limite delle sue possibilità, nonostante questo, la tenuta generale è confortevole.
Because of my small constitution, i had to tight the vest more I can, but the result is confortable.
I materiali.
The Materials
Sono rimasto positivamente impressionato dai materiali.
Non considerando una cordura (che effettivamente è cordura e non Nylon tinto) a 1000D più scura, le cuciture sono realizzate in nylon ad alta resistenza e si sono rivelate molto efficaci.
I'm very satisfied by the materials used for this vest: real 1000D cordura and hi-resistance nylon thread well sewed.
Le minuterie invece non convincono: stando al sito, la Pantac utilizza minuterie UTX e ITW Nexus. Bene, buona parte delle minuteria, sopratutto i fastex, non sono assolutamente marchiati.
La coppia di D-Ring frontali, che reggono la pettorina, invece riportano invece la sigla ITW Nexus/A.
Instead, the plastic forniture don't get close to victory: get for gold the Pantac site description, they use plastic from UTX and ITW Nexus, but some part of that have no mark on it. Only the couple of frontal D-ring have the ITW Nexus mark on it.
Confrontati con un D-ring originale Nexus fanno sorgere il dubbio che in realtà siano una contraffazione. Ben fatta, ma una contraffazione.
But, comparing with a original Nexus, we have a small difference, the "/A". Is this original or is it a good copy?
In sé, queste minuterie non sono male, l'unico problema l'ha dato la chiusura posteriore (e quindi anche il fastex più grande) che si fatica ad aprire.
Assieme al vest ho preso anche alcune tasche: un porta radio, una utility, un porta caricatori da 6 x Colt ed una tasca per caricatori esausti.
With the vest, I got some pouches, to taste the quality.
Il design di queste realizzazioni è ovviamente preso da marche più note, fatta eccezione della dump pouch, diversa rispetto alla “originale”.
The design is the same of the original, with the exception of the dump pouches.
Anche le tasche sono ben realizzate, in cordura, con le stesse ottime cuciture del vest. Anche le minuterie funzionano bene.
The pouches are well built as the vest, good cordura and nylon thread. Even the plastic forniture works fine.
L'unico vero difetto si trova nella tasca portacaricatori per M4: i fori di drenaggio non si trovano sul fondo come dovrebbero.
The only defect is on the 6 M4 magazione pouches: the drain hole is not on the bottom of the pouches!
La prova.
Il vest è in uso costante da due anni. Le cuciture e la cordura hanno dato prova di ottima realizzazione.
Le fasce elastiche invece, con l'uso riportano segni di danneggiamento.
The field test.
The RRV is on the field from the day I get it.
After this use, the seams and teh cordura have no sign of damage on it. But the elastic fabric on the shoulder pad shows some fault.
Conclusioni su RRV Pantac:
PRO: prezzo, materiali, disegno (anche se non è originale...)
CONTRO: colore non coerente, alcuni particolari perfettibili e migliorabili, la conformazione del vest non è adatta a tutte le corporature.
Final Evalutation on the Rhodesian Recon Vest PANTAC
VALUE UP: affordable price, design (ok, it's a copy...)
VALUE DOWN: Not-so-matching color, poor made the elastic fabric, the vest does not fit all the size.
Come colore ho scelto il caro e vecchio Olive Drab che è stato vittima di una eliminazione spietata da parte delle marche “famose”, in favore di un più moderno Ranger Green.
I have bought the FLYYE RRV also with a couple of pouches, to taste the quality of the product.
For the color I chose the old and sweet olive drab, now dismissed by everyone in favour of the modern ranger green
Qui, si nota effettivamente una cordura leggermente più lucida, ma non eccessiva.
Here, we have a lightly shiny cordura.
The general quality of the product is very good, but we found some strange similarities with the Pantac RRV.
Basically, this vest had the same characteristics of the Pantac's one.
Da notare, la presenza di una piccola targhettina riportante un codice, simile a quella che si trova nei prodotti originali del marchio made in USA.
Look at the small label... Does it remember nothing to you?
Le minuterie in plastica sono della UTX. Come nel caso Pantac, viene spontaneo chiedersi se siano le originali o una contraffazione molto ben riuscita.
The plastic fastex are marked UTX.
As the Pantac RRV, here also the elastic fabric is not so good and after 2 years of use, you can see small fault.
All'interno del vest, troviamo il logo aziendale lontanamente somigliante a quello della nota ditta americana.
As written before, inside the Flyye RRV, we found some vague similarities with the famous american brand.
Le tasche.
Ecco le tasche acquistate insieme al tattico: una tasca porta caricatori per M249 ed un porta-radio.
Here the pouches: a M249 magazine carrier and a radio pouch.
Basically, this pouches have the same solution of the original Eagle Industries and Blackhawk! product. You can use the M249 pouches to carry 6 M4 magazine, with the compartment divider or use it as a dump pouch, mounting the adapter.
Il portaradio è identico al Pantac ed è l'ideale per radio di piccole dimensione, con attacco per microfono superiore.
The radio pouch is equal to the Pantac's one. Carry only small radio transmitter, with upper mirophone plug.
The seams are good!
Conclusioni su RRV Flyye.
PRO: prezzo, materiali, disegno.
CONTRO: finiture perfettibili, tessuto leggermente lucido, conformazione del vest non adatta a tutte le complessioni fisiche.
Final Evaluation of the RRV made by Flyye.
VALUE UP: Price, materials, design
VALUE DOWN: Perfectible finish, shiny fabric, the vest does not match all the player's size.
Conclusioni sui modelli recensiti.
Fondamentalmente è relativo decidere se sia migliore il prodotto Pantac o quello Flyye.
Sono entrambe copie di un modello nettamente superiore, fare un paragone è assolutamente fuori luogo, ma considerando la pratica del softair sono entrambi prodotti molto validi e pratici.
Tra i due, preferisco il Pantac, per ragioni meramente personali e quindi mi sento di consigliarli entrambi a qualsiasi appassionato di softair alla ricerca di un vest onesto per le nostre guerre domenicali.
Final Evalutation on the reviewed model.
Both the vest are copy of the original Eagle Industries Rhodesian Recon Vest, so no congrats for the design.
The materials are good, the seams too, all is well fitted, with the only exception of the elastic fabric.
Personally, I prefer the Pantac's one, but both the model are great for our sunday battle.
