Dalla Thatchreed Limited, Viperkit.co.uk produce e commercializza una delle mimetiche più controverse del momento.
Nata per rappresentare l'evoluzione della famosa DPM iglese (Disruptive Pattern Materials), le cui origini sono datate 1940, non è stata adottata ufficialmente dal dipartimento della difesa inglese, divenendo utile solo per i giocatori di softair.

From Thatchreed Limited, Viperkit.co.uk one of the most controversial camo of the moment.

IL VIPER KIT

Giacca, pantaloni e cappello sono stati acquistati in Inghilterra, attraverso Ebay, da quello che ho appreso essere un rivenditore autorizzato.
Insieme al materiale ordinato (ed al cappello sbagliato), ho ricevuto un catalogo dei prodotti e devo dire la prima impressione non è per niente positiva. E' materiale che eufemisticamente si potrebbe definire “di base”: tattici sudafricani, strani bodyarmor, vest in molle. Materiale da softair.
Eppure, diverse foto ritraggono personale militare inglese in servizio in iraq con addosso materiale Viperkit.
Jacket, pants and hats were purchased in England, through Ebay, from what I've learned to be an authorized dealer.

Along with the ordered material (and the wrong hat), I received a catalog of products and I must say the first impression is not at all positive. It's material that euphemistically might be called "basic": South Africans copy vest, strange bodyarmor, cheap MOLLE vest. Airsoft equipment at all.
But several photos shows British military personnel serving in Iraq wearing Viperkit material.


Digital DPM BDU
La mimetica ha il classico taglio ACU, che ormai contraddistingue il 90% del materiale in circolazione.
I colori sono ripresi dal modello originale, anche se con toni leggermente più scuri.
Il materiale è un ottimo cotone ripstop.

The shirt has the classic ACU cut, which now characterizes 90% of the shirt in use.
The colors are taken from the original model, though with slightly darker tones.
The material is a good 100% cotton ripstop.

Vediamo nel dettaglio i singoli capi.

La giacca - The shirt

La giacca, come scritto sopra, è in taglio ACU.

The jacket, as written above, as the ACU cut.




Il colletto è detto “coreano”, con chiusura a mezzo velcro.
The collar is called "Korean" with velcro closure.




Posteriormente, sulle spalle, il tessuto è stato cucito a soffietto, di modo da non tirare quando si piegano le braccia, ad esempio andando in punteria con il fucile.
La chiusura della giacca avviene tramite una cerniera di generose dimensioni, coadiuvata dal velcro.

Sugli omeri, due tasche di medie dimensioni coperte da velcro.

All'altezza dei gomiti troviamo una tasca adatta a contenere protezioni morbide.

Il bordo inferiore della giacca è corto, adatto ad essere portato dentro ai pantaloni.

I pantaloni - The pants




Una delle cose veramente apprezzabili delle mimetiche inglesi sono i bottoni.
Qui, purtroppo, troviamo i comuni bottoni USA, piccoli e difficilmente manovrabili indossando i guanti.

One of the things truly valuable of teh british shirt and pants are the english buttons. Large and easy to operate.
Here, unfortunately, we find the common US buttons, small and difficult to control when wearing gloves.
Above are the belt loops, the U.S. model.
Besides that, in the waistline there's a cord to adjust it a little.


Superiormente troviamo i passanti per la cintura, modello USA, stretti.
Oltre a questo, in vita c'è un cordino per regolare leggermente la vita.



Oltre alle classiche tasche in corrispondenza del bacino, troviamo al di sotto 2 tasche cargo con micro-tasca al loro interno, con elastico per regolarne la chiusura e velcri.

In addition to the classic pockets at the pelvis, are below 2 cargo pockets with micro-pockets in them, with elastic and Velcro closure to adjust.




Posteriormente, troviamo il solito rinforzo sul fondo schiena e le due tasche posteriori.

Sulle ginocchia, si trovano nuovamente due tasche, per inserire gommapiuma od altro materiale protettivo.

Sul polpaccio, tasca portaserbatoio.

La chiusura inferiore è affidata al cordino di para.

Il cappello - The hat

Anche se avevo scelto un altro modello dei 3 disponibili (baseball cap, bush hat, jungle hat), il venditore ha deciso di inviarmi un jungle.

Probabilmente questo è il modello che vendeva di meno, e vedendolo capisco il perchè.
Innanzitutto, la falda è comicamente larga.
Il bordo del jungle è realizzato con un nastrino sintetico, niente a che vedere con la fettuccia di cotone spesso che viene utilizzata di solito.

Probably this is the model that sold for less, and seeing it I understand why.
First, the flap is comically large.

Anche il soggola è molto economico. La sfera di regolazione tende a sfilarsi.

Sui lati, troviamo le solite minuterie per “l'areazione”.

Conclusioni

Il costo del completo, cappello incluso è stato circa di 70€, spedizione compresa.

Personalmente, non mi piacciono i materiali espressamente concepiti per il softair, perchè spesso sono viziati da difetti più o meno visibili, segno di una lavorazione poco curata.
Quindi, dell'intero catalogo Viperkit, non comprerei nulla.
Salvo questa mimetica.
Non è bella, non è innovativa, non è nemmeno issued (di ordinanza).
Però è comoda, il mimetismo funziona bene (specialmente nel sottobosco fitto) ed i materiali sono tutto sommato buoni.

Personalmente, la consiglio a chi si avvicina al softair e cerca una mimetica che duri, che non si scolorisca e che sia afficace. Oltre a questo, perlomeno di distingue dai soliti mimetismi abusati che vediamo sui campi da softair.

Final Evaluation.

The cost of the uniform, including a hat was approximately 70 €, shipping included.

Personally, I do not like the materials specifically designed for airsoft, because they are often tainted by defects more or less visible, a sign of a careless workmanship.
Of the entire catalog Viperkit, I will buy anything.
I only save this battledress.
Is not beautiful, is not innovative, nor is issued.
But it is convenient, the camouflage works well (especially in the dense undergrowth) and the materials are ultimately good.

I personally recommend it to those approaching to the airsoft and looking for a camouflage uniform with high performance and low cost. And it is very unusual to see!
