La casa di Hong Kong, S-Thunder, si è proposta al mercato italiano con una serie di granate a gas e di mine, sempre con funzionamento a gas. Quando mi si è presentata l'occasione di recensire degli articoli l'ho subito colta, non lo nascondo, con grandi aspettative, ma con risultati non proprio all'altezza.

The home of Hong Kong ha proposed to the Italian market with a series of gas grenades and mines. When I was presented an opportunity to review the articles I've didi it, do not hide it, with great expectations,but the results were not quite up to it.

I modelli di granate di questa recensione sono rispettivamente: la granata SWG-377 e quella a “palline” SWG-446. Le mine sono la IGG-301A e la IGG-501B. E' stato inoltre testato il lanciagranate AGL-SB01 e il carichino a Co2 CDC-X003.

The models in this review are the granade SWG-377 and the SWG-446, this one loaded at “small-balls”. The mines are the IGG-301A and the IGG-501B. We have also tested the granade launcher AGL-SB01 and the Co2gas loader CDC-X003.

Il carichino - The Gas loader

Ospita una bomboletta di Co2 ed è in metallo di buona qualità.
È uno strumento molto utile, non solo per caricare granate o mine ma può essere utilizzato anche per le repliche GBB se si desidera utilizzare la Co2 nel periodo invernale.
E' inoltre disponibile anche la versione che ospita 2 bombolette con manometro.

It's made for one Co2 shell; it is made with good quality metal. It's a very useful tool, not only for granades or mines, but it can be usesd also for Co2 gas GBB loading. A 2 CO2 shells version with a pressure gauge is also available.

Il lanciagranate - The granade launcher

La confezione è molto semplice, in cartone con un'etichetta incollata ed è imballato molto bene. L'articolo è in plastica nera opaca, di buona qualità, solido, senza cigolii, giochi, sbavature o crepe.

Packaging is very simple, with a label pasted on cardboard. The unit is made with matt black plastic, good quality and solid.

Le granate - Grenades

Entrambi gli articoli si presentano come delle repliche delle granate da 40mm.
Sono strutturalmente solide, senza giochi o senza cedimenti. Non mostrano sbavature di sorta o difetti di lavorazione apparenti.

Both articles seem to be replicas of 40mm grenades. They are solid, without failure.

La prima può sparare comuni pallini ed ha in dotazione 10 “tappini” rossi che servono a chiudere il foro dove vengono inseriti i pallini, circa 80.
La seconda è pensata per sparare le 2 palline di gommapiuma compressa in dotazione.
In questa recensione sono state testate con pallini, farina, riso e ceci.

The first can shoot common BBs and it's equipped with 10 red "caps" used to close the hole where the BBs are placed, about 80.
The second is designed to shoot the two balls of compressed foam provided.
In this review have been tested with BBs, flour, rice and chickpeas.

Test di fuoco - Firing test

Veniamo ora alla fase più interessante: i test di fuoco. I test sono stati effettuati a diverse temperature, 18°C e 10°C circa, utilizzando sia gas Co2 che GreenGas.
Con entrambe le granate il caricamento a 10°C ca. si è rivelato impossibile, a temperatura più alta invece il caricamento è riuscito ma solo a fronte di molto gas andato sprecato.

Per quanto riguarda il fuoco vero e proprio il primo modello, quella a pallini, ha deluso le aspettative: il tappino rosso è stato lanciato ad una decina di metri ma i pallini sono stati letteralmente sputacchiati ad una distanza non superiore ai 6 con una rosata massima di 50cm circa. Altri test effettuati con farina, ceci e riso hanno evidenziato un comportamento molto simile, la farina ha creato una nuvoletta bianca di circa un metro di lunghezza, riso e ceci si sino comportati allo stesso modo dei pallini.

La seconda granata ha lanciato le palline ad una distanza fra i 10 e 15 metri, tuttavia la cavia contro cui ho sparato (il mio compagno di squadra Joker) ha detto di non aver sentito nulla già a 3 metri. È stata sparata anche della farina, fermandola con una pallina, ma il risultato è stato analogo a quello della granata precedente: una nuvoletta di ridotte dimensioni. Riso, ceci e pallini sono volati ad una distanza di soli 3 metri circa.

Durante le varie prove è emerso un difetto inerente a questa granata: per fare fuoco il lanciagranate spinge verso l'interno una specie di bottone, tale bottone tende a rimanere incastrato all'interno e occorre farlo uscire utilizzando un oggetto minuto.
È da notare che per la ricarica è necessario che il meccanismo di sparo sia in posizione perfetta. Tale difetto non è stato riscontrato nell'altra granata.

Tests were performed at different temperatures, 18°Celsius and 10° Celsius, using CO2 and GreenGas.
With both grenades loading at 10°C was impossible. At an higher temperature loading was successful but only with a large gas waste.

About the fire itself the first model, the BBs's granade, has fallen short of expectations: the red cap was launched about ten meters but the BBs were literally spat at a distance of no more than 6 meters with a maximum burst pattern of about 50cm. Other tests with flour, chick peas and rice showed a very similar behavior, the flour has created a white cloud of about one meter in length, rice and chickpeas until they behaved the same way as BBs.

The second grenade launched the ball to a distance between 10 and 15 meters, but I shot against a friend of mine and he said that he had not felt anything already 3 at meters.
It was also shot in the flour, securing with a ball, but the result was similar to that of the grenade before: a cloud of small size, rice, chickpeas and bullets flew at a distance of about 3 meters.

The various tests revealed a flaw inherent in this grenade: to fire the grenade launcher pushes a kind of button, this button tends to get stuck in and it need to get it out. Note that it is necessary to charge that the firing mechanism is in the perfect location. This defect was not seen in the other grenade.

Le mine - The landmines

Ecco la vera novità introdotta da S-Thunder.
Le mine vengono vendute in una scatola di cartone, sono bene imballate, e sono corredate di un sacchetto di nylon verde per il trasporto, due anelli per la sicura e il foglietto con le istruzioni.

Here is the real novelty introduced by S-Thunder.
The land mines are sold in a cardboard box, with a green nylon bag for transport, two rings for secure and an istruction sheet.

Sono costruite in plastica di buona qualità, sono pesanti, solide, non presentano apparenti difetti di costruzione. Questi modelli sono pensati per funzionare con acqua o, così dicono le istruzioni, “polvere” quale farina.

They are made of good quality plastic, are heavy, strong, without apparent defects. These models are designed to operate with water or, as the instructions say, "dust" as flour.





Questo tipo di mina (IGG-301A), è studiata per lanciare verso l'alto, si carica sul fondo e
lateralmente ha il meccanismo di sicura, attivabile mediante l'apposita chiavetta.

This type of mine (IGG-301A) is designed to throw up, it loads on the bottom and at the side has the safe mechanism activated by the appropiate key.

Il test - Testing

Come per le granate le prove sono stati effettuate a 18°C e 10°C circa, utilizzando sia gas Co2 che GreenGas.
Analizziamo la prima mina: il funzionamento è analogo a quello delle mine vere, una volta calpestata la mina viene armata, emettendo un inquietante “clack”, quando poi si solleva il piede esplode.

Dettagli del meccanismo di sparo - Details of the firing mechanism

Per caricare il gas occorre: inserire gli anelli di sicura, armare la mina con l'apposita chiavetta e poi inserire il gas dalla valvola sul fondo.

Per questa mina, come per le granate, il caricamento del gas a 10°C non è riuscito e quello a 18°C solo con molte perdite.
Ma funziona? Caricandola con farina crea una bella nuvoletta alta circa un metro e mezzo e larga circa mezzo, facendo anche un bell'effetto scenografico, imbiancando il malcapitato a cui non resterà che dichiararsi per potersi ripulire. Caricata con acqua il getto supera i 4 metri di altezza e in larghezza gli spruzzi più lontani sono arrivati a 3 metri.

Ogni proiettile ha i suoi pro e i suoi contro: caricandola ad acqua si sfrutta al massimo il potenziale di questa mina, potenzialmente può eliminare più giocatori, ma occorre usare acqua colorata perchè si noti su di una mimetica, anche se non penso faccia piacere sporcare di viola, o altro colore, il proprio setup. Con la farina l'area coperta è minore ma è più semplice notare se si viene colpiti, è tuttavia necessario pulire bene la mina dalla farina residua.

Passiamo all'altro tipo di mina.
In realtà questo modello si è rivelato difettos:, il caricamento del gas si è rivelato impossibile ad ogni temperatura e con ogni tipo di gas. Le cause di questo difetto sono sconosciute, probabilmente si tratta di un difetto alla valvola. Di conseguenza non è stato possibile testarla per questa recensione.

Let the other type of mines.
This model has proven to be defective: the loading of the gas it was impossible at any temperature and with any type of gas. The causes of this defect are unknown, it is probably a defect in the valve. Consequently it was not possible to test this mine for this review.

Mina in sicura - Mine in safe condition

Il secondo tipo di mina, quella più scura, è più bassa della precedente, circa la metà.
La valvola per il caricamento è sul fondo all'interno.

The second type on mines, the darkest one, is lower than the previous.
The loading valve is on the bottom, inside.

Le mine più grandi sono semplicemente geniali e molto semplici.
Una capsula di CO2 viene inserita in un apposita sede che scorre in direzione del fondo della mina.
La mina può essere caricata ad acqua (la versione nera) o a polvere (la versione Tan).
Quando il malcapitato softgunner vi mette un piede sopra, la capsula di CO2 viene spinta contro un cuneo che protrude dal fondo della mina. Il gas viene liberato instantaneamente, satura il contentiore e costringe il liquido o la polvere a schizzare verso l'alto.

The bigger mines are brilliant and very easy.
A CO2 capsule have to be inserted in a dedicated zone and it moves to the bottom of the mine.
You can load your mine with water (black version mine) or with flour (tan version mine).
Wher the unlucky arsoft player will put his foot on the mine, the CO2 capsule is pushed against a sharp end that protrude from the bottom of the mine. The gas is instantly released saturating the box and pushing out the liquid or the flour from inside of mine.

In questo tipo di mina, di concezione molto semplice, anche il sistema di sicurezza è semplice.
Un perno passante impedisce l'escursione del contenitore della capsula a Co2.

Safe pin is very simple: a pin lock the movement of the CO2 capsule.

Conclusioni - Conclusions

Come ho già anticipato i prodotti, in generale, hanno deluso.
Certamente, sono ben costruiti ed ingegnosi ma rivelano tanti piccoli difetti che ne complicano, quando non lo impediscono del tutto, l'utilizzo.
Le granate, per le loro prestazioni, non trovano grande impiego sui campi di gioco, fatta esclusione per contesti di tipo urbano.

Le mine rivelano grandi potenzialità d'uso, potendo aggiungere del pepe alle partite domenicali.

Prossimamente, la prova sul campo delle mine.

As I mentioned earlier, products, in general, have disappointed. Are seemingly well-constructed but revealed many small faults that complicate, if not prevent completely, the use.
