Stavolta parlo di una replica diversa, ispirata ad un'arma vera moderna, e che mi è arrivata fra le mani del tutto per caso: la KWA PRO SP2340.

This time I will speak about a different replica inspired by a true today weapon, that came into my hands entirely by chance: the KWA PRO SP2340.

La SIG PRO 2340 è un'arma realizzata dalla svizzero - tedesca SIG Sauer, apparsa sul mercato nel 1998. Destinata ad utenti professionali, unisce elementi tecnologici nuovi ed allo stato dell'arte (fusto in polimeri, impugnatura adattabile alle caratteristiche dell'utente, doppia azione, dispositivo di abbattimento del cane, magazzino ad alta capacità, finitura al nitron delle superfici in polimero), a un impianto meccanico collaudato ed affidabile, che riprende il sistema di chiusura Browning modificato.

Camerata per il 9 mm parabellum (serbatoio da 15 colpi), il .40 SW ed il .357 SIG (serbatoio da 12 colpi) la PRO è stata adottata da numerose agenzie e forze di polizia nel mondo.
Tecnicamente i suoi dati sono questi:
- lunghezza 187 mm
- altezza 144 mm
- larghezza 35 mm
- lunghezza della canna 99 mm
- peso 790 grammi ad arma scarica

Le armi prodotte dalla SIG sono state e sono uno dei soggetti preferiti per le repliche ASG; e che siano fucili o pistole, la scelta non manca. A giustificarla, oltre all'appeal del marchio svizzero, tradizionalmente considerato la ROLLS ROYCE delle armi, c'é un aspetto in genere attraente, e per le pistole una ergonomia piú che soddisfacente.
La stessa SIG, ora ridenominata Swiss Arms, offre ai suoi clienti delle repliche softair, quale strumento addestrativo a basso costo.

La KWA è una società taiuanese, collegata alla nipponica KSC; i suoi prodotti da anni sono presenti sul mercato, e godono di buona reputazione variabile fra sufficiente ed ottima, ancorché stimati un passo sotto al marchio giapponese. Questa differenza ora di fatto è scomparsa.

La sua replica della SIG PRO 2340 è apparsa sul mercato qualche anno orsono, e, a quanto si ricava dalle poche recensioni disponibili nella rete, non ha riscosso eccessivi entusiasmi fra gli appassionati per una serie di caratteristiche giudicate negative.

The SIG PRO 2340 it is a weapon made by the Swiss - German SIG Sauer, that appeared on the market in 1998. Aimed to professional users, it combines state of the art elements of technology (polymer frame, interchangeable grip panels, double action, decocking lever, high capacity magazine, Nitron polymer surface finish), and a proven and reliable mechanical system, which incorporates the modified Browning locking system.

Chambered for the 9 mm Parabellum (15 rounds), the .40 SW and .357 SIG (12 rounds) the PRO has been adopted by many agencies and police forces around the world.
Technically, its data are these:
- Length 187 mm
- Height 144 mm
- Width 35 mm
- Barrel length 99 mm
- Weight 790 grams (empty weapon)

The weapons produced by have been and are still today a favorite subject for ASG replicas, and, that those coul be rifles or pistols, the choice is there.
To justify it, in addition to the appeal of the Swiss brand, traditionally considered the Rolls Royce of weapons, there is a generally attractive appearance, and, regarding the handguns, a more than satisfactory ergonomics.
The same SIG, now named Swiss Arms, it offers to its customers airsoft replicas, as a low-cost training tool.

KWA it is a taiuanese company, linked to Japanese KSC; its products are on the market for many years, and have a good reputation, even though an estimated one step under the Japanese brand. The difference now in fact disappeared.

His replica of the SIG PRO 2340 has appeared on the market a few years ago, and, as it is apparent from the few reviews available on the network, it failed into collect excessive enthusiasm among fans for a number of characteristics which are deemed negative.

 

Una ricerca su internet, dove trovo alcune recensioni, ad elencare una serie di difetti, che riassumo:
- una potenza insufficiente (la indicano in 0.7 joule, più o meno)
- una sicurezza al grilletto poco funzionale
- continui inceppamenti e malfunzioni
- un peso ridotto, che offre poco realismo nel tiro...
A questo punto, mi sono chiesto se non avessi comprato una boiata... e del resto il bello del colpo di fulmine è che rende almeno per un po' stupendo anche l'ordinario ed il brutto.
Ho cominciato a tirare qualche serie di pallini, a smontare, a lubrificare, e queste sono le mie personalissime conclusioni da barattoliere...

La confezione è di stile antiquato; non fosse per il polistirolo modellato, ricorderebbe quelle vecchie scatole di giocattoli di mezzo secolo fa...
Dentro, oltre alla replica, ci si sono il manuale (rigorosamente in lingua orientale - ma la traduzione inglese si trova in internet, per fortuna - ed è una guida abbastanza ben concepita, oltretutto marcata KSC), un attrezzo per regolare l'hop up (assente nella mia "offerta speciale") e qualche pallinotto...

A search on the internet, and here are the reviews, producing a series of defects, which I summarize:
- A low power (reported at about 0.7 joules)
- A pooly efficient trigger security
- Constant jams and malfunctions
- Low weight, which offers little realism in shooting ...
At this point, I wondered if I had not bought a hogwash ... and the beauty of love at first sight is that it makes for a while beautiful even the ordinary and ugly.
I started to pull some number of BB, to disassemble, lubricate, and these are my very personal conclusions from tin can plinker ...

The packaging style is outdated; but for the polystyrene package, you may image to see those old toys boxes of half a century ago ...
Inside, in addition to replica, we have the manual (strictly eastern speaking - but the English translation is on the Internet, fortunately - and it is a fairly well-designed guide, plus marked KSC), a tool for adjusting the hop ups (absent in my special offer) and some kind of BB...

 

E veniamo alla nostra malfamata GBB cino nipponica.
Come l'originale, la struttura è in materiale plastico (ad occhio, del buon ABS ben fuso, ben stampato, e resistente), con inserti di rinforzoe parti in metallo; metallico è pure il caricatore.
La finitura è, come l'originale, bicolore, con castello e carrello neri, e guancette verdi.
La produzione deve essere avvenuta su licenza della casa elvetico tedesca, visto che i marchi abbondano, e sembra a prima vista corretti; è presente anche il numero di matricola, inciso su una lamina metallica collocata sulla parte inferiore del castello, avanti al ponticello.

That brings us to our infamous Chino Japanese GBB.

The production must have been licensed from Swiss German house, seeing that the markings are abounding, and it seems at first sight correct., There is also a serial number, engraved on a metal plate placed on the bottom of the frame, in front of the trigger guard.

 

Il feeling, l'ho detto, è ottimo. L'impugnatura si adatta bene alla mano, e il grip delle guancette è piú che buono. L'angolo del calcio permette di acquisire rapidamente le mire, impugnando naturalmente la replica.
Le dimensioni sono fedeli al millimetro, ed il peso dichiarato di 665 grammi è inferiore all'originale per poco piú di un etto. La sensazione di leggerezza è propria delle armi in polimero, e, secondo me, non è sgradevole, anzi...

Il castello ha una rail per applicare dei dispositivi accessori; purtroppo richiede dei dispositivi dedicati, e non è compatibile con le rail Weaver o Piccatinny.
I comandi disponibili (collocati sul fianco sinistro del castello, e quindi non per tiratori mancini) sono la leva dell'hold open, il comando di abbattimento del cane, ed il fermo del caricatore, e tutti si raggiungono senza difficoltà.

The frame it has a rail for ancillary equipment, but unfortunately it requires dedicated devices, and is not compatible with Weaver or Piccatinny rails.
Available commands (located on the left side of the castle, and then not for left handed shooters) will comprise hold open lever, decocking lever, and the magazine release button, and all can be reached without difficulty.

 

Una "spiritosa invenzione" ce l'hanno messa alla KWA: il grilletto ospita una minuscola leva, trattenuta da un microscopico pulsante, che, ruotando, va ad urtare contro il castello, impedendo al grilletto di azionare lo scatto. Oltre ad essere difficile da disconnettere, questo aggeggio ha dimostrato una tendenza ad entrare in azione di sua volontà... e quindi è stato immediatamente rimosso, senza rimpianti e senza perdere in sicurezza.

Penso che la ragione di questo bizzarro mini acrocco sia da cercarsi nella struttura dell'originale, che non dispone di una sicura convenzionale, ma di un dispositivo di blocco del percussore, per cui l'arma vera spara solamente se il grilletto è premuto.

KWA have it put a witty invention: the trigger contains a tiny lever, held by a small button, that rotate to be impacting on the frame, preventing the trigger to actuate the hammer. Besides being difficult to disconnect, this device has demonstrated a tendency to take action on its own will ... and then was immediately removed, without regret and without losing security.

I think the reason for this bizarre mini trick it has to be found in the original structure, which has no definite safety, but a device that locks the firing pin, so the gun shoots only if the trigger is pressed.

 

Le mire sono regolabili in brandeggio, e dotate di riferimenti bianchi per il tiro istintivo. Ben dimensionate, chiedono un po' di bloccafiletti per essere definitivamente fissate, ma non ballano e non si rischia di perderle con l'uso.

The sights are adjustable for windage, and have white dot references for instinctive shooting.
Well sized, take a bit 'of screw locking to be permanently fixed, but those do not dance, and we does not risk of losing them through use.

 

Il caricatore, l'ho detto, è in lamiera, con il fondello in plastica. Il serbatoio, una volta lubrificato con olio al silicone, fa bene il suo lavoro; con una carica riesce a sparare una cinquantina di pallini. La valvola di riempimento è posta sul fondo, consentendo il rifornimento senza bisogno di rimuoverlo.

L'inserimento, lo sgancio ed il fermo funzionano perfettamente. L'alloggiamento ospita 26 BB, in un magazzino prismatico; il riempimento è fra i piú facili e rapidi da me incontrati, e l'alimentazione (avendo sparato alcune centinaia di BB) quando c'era abbastanza gas è sempre avvenuta regolarmente.

The insertion, release and latch worka all perfectly. The chamber hosts 26 BB, inside a prismatic housing. The filling it is between the easiest and fast I met, and feeding (having shot several hundred BB) when there is enough gas, it has always been regular.

 

Passiamo alla replica; lo smontaggio riprende quello dell'originale, come l'organizzazione meccanica: tolto il caricatore, si rimuove il traversino che blocca la camma, e si fa scorrere in avanti il carrello, dopo aver armato il cane, sino a liberarlo dal castello. Una volta rimossa la molla di recupero, anche la canna esce facilmente dal suo alloggiamento.

Una sorpresa estremamente positiva arriva constatando che la struttura è composta da tre elementi monolitici, complessi e stampati ottimamente: castello, carrello, e guancette. Persino le tracce di unione degli stampi sono presenti solo sulle guancette.
L'impressione è che l'assieme sia solido oltre l'apparenza.

A very positive surprise comes in finding that the structure consists of three monolithic well-worked complexes: frame, slide, and grips. Even traces of molds are present only on the grip panel.
The impression it is that the assembly it is solid over appearance.

 

Il carrello ospita, oltre alla canna (con outer barrel in ABS, ma corredato dei marchi di fabbrica!) il dispositivo di rinculo, la molla ed il guidamolla.

The slide houses, in addition to the barrel (with ABS outer barrel, but bearings the trademarks!) the recoil gear, and also the spring and spring guide.

 

L'hop up si regola mediante un comando a rotella provvisto di due intagli, collocato sulla culatta della canna; anche senza l'apposito arnese, il comando ruota con facilità e dispone di un arresto micrometrico per mantenere la regolazione. Punto a vantaggio, non serve smontare l'arma per tararla.

The hop up is adjusted using a scroll wheel with two grooves, located on the breech of the barrel, even without the special tool. The control wheel with ease and has a micrometer stop to maintain control. Point of advantage, no need to disassemble the weapon to calibrate it.

 

Il rinculo c'è, ed è abbastanza rapido, ma non troppo forte (anche se la replica è definita hard kick). Credo dipenda sia dalla potenza, che dal peso ridotto del carrello.
Il castello ospita il meccanismo di sparo; tutte le parti sono in metallo, ed il funzionamento è adeguato. Trattandosi di un'arma a doppia azione, la precorsa del grilletto è abbastanza lunga, ma l'ingaggio dello scatto è avvertibile, e lo scatto stesso è filante.

The recoil is fast enough but not too strong (even if the reply is called hard kick). I think it depends on the power, as like as on the reduced weight of the slide.
The frame houses the firing mechanism. All parts are made by metal, and the operation is appropriate. Being a double action, trigger pre-travel is quite long, but the trigger mechanism it is streamlined.

 

Non ci sono molti interventi estetici da fare, e per quelli meccanici mi sono limitato a rimuovere la sicura al grilletto, a lubrificare con olio al silicone le valvole, e ad applicare un parco strato di grasso al litio sulle parti soggette ad attrito.

E veniamo alle prove:

Il funzionamento, sin che c'è gas, si rivela regolare. Nessun impuntamento, e nessuna mancata alimentazione.

Il grilletto è posto abbastanza avanti, con forma tipica delle armi a doppia azione, e il dito deve poggiarvisi di conseguenza, alla giunzione fra la prima e la seconda falange dell'indice.
Per la stagione, la pioggia, e qualche acciacco, le prove le ho fatte solo ai cinque metri, dentro casa.

Il risultato, per dirla in termini tecnici, è che la replica tira precisa, ma non giusta.

Perché?
Mirando con calma, e dopo aver tarato le mire, si ottengono rosate ben concentrate (in un caso sotto i tre centimetri, a mano sciolta) ma sempre e comunque alte.
Ho provato a tarare l'hop up invano: a cinque metri, i tiri si alzano, e per arrivare attorno al bersaglio si deve mirare di almeno due - tre centimetri basso.

There are not so many cosmetic procedures to be done, and about the mechanical ones, all I have done is has been to remove the trigger safe, to lubricate the valves with silicone oil, and apply a light layer of lithium grease on parts subject to friction.

And we are on testing:

Operation, since there is gas, shows regular. No peaking, and no power failure.

The trigger it is pretty forward, having the typical double action shape, and the finger should lay on consequently, using the junction between the first and second phalanx of the index.
For the season, rain, and some ailments, I made the tests only inside the house at five meters.

The result, to put it in technical terms, is that replica brings precise, but not right.

Why?
Aiming calmly and having adjusted the sights, you get hits very concentrated (in one case less than three centimetres, one hand shooting) but always high.
I tried to tune the hop up in vain. At five meters, the shots go up, and to get around the target the aim point should be targeted at least two - three centimeters below.

 

Ora, le ragioni possono essere diverse.
La prima, me stesso: ma a questo addebito la dispersione della rosa.
La seconda, un hop up poco efficiente.
La terza, a mio avviso, deriva dal sistema meccanico riprodotto.
La chiusura Browning offre alla canna due gradi di movimento, facendola arretrare e ruotare sul suo asse longitudinale.
Nelle armi vere, la velocità del proiettile è tale che questo lascia la canna prima che questa si svincoli dal carrello, inclinandosi.
Questa replica ha le stesse dimensioni dell'originale, ma il pallino lascia la canna in un tempo di molto superiore, e quindi, a mio avviso, risente della fase di svincolo, lasciando la canna quando già è sollevata.

Cosa dire? L'impressione che ho, avendo sparato qualche centinaio di pallini, è che ci si deva prendere la mano. Potenzialmente, le rosate possono chiudersi a meno di tre centimetri, ma bisogna spararci tanto... e del resto, sennò, per che cosa l'avremmo acquistata?

Well, the reasons may be different.
I put the first to myself, and on this I will complaint, the dispersion of hit points.
The second, an hop up not too effective.
The third, in my point of view, it derives from the mechanical system.
The Browning barrel lock offers two degrees of movement, making the barrel move back and rotate on its longitudinal axis.
In real weapons, the speed of the projectile is such that it leaves the barrel before it rotate.
This replica has the same size as the original, but the bullet leaves the barrel in a time much higher, and therefore, in my view, suffers from being released, leaving the barrel when it is already raised.

What to say?
The impression that I got, having shot several hundred BB, is that you have to get acquainted. Potentially, you could close all hit points in less than three centimeters, but you have to shoot with a lot ... and, otherwise, for what we would have bought it?

 

A mio giudizio, questa ASG è molto adatta quale back up nel Grande Gioco: il suo caricatore da 26 colpi, sparando taps di due BB, può sbrogliare piú di qualche situazione pasticciata. Le dimensioni ridotte non creano ingombro, e la forma garantisce una buona presa anche nel tiro d'istinto.

Per barattolare è un must, divertente e non troppo rumorosa: una vera ammazzalattine.
Nel tiro pratico, penso sia preferibile una replica con la canna ad un solo grado di movimento, come la Beretta.

Sotto il profilo del reenactment, questa KWA non trova grandi spazi, se non in appassionati delle forze speciali o di polizia contemporanee; ma qui si sconfina nel presente triste, ed è meglio cambiare discorso...
Sotto l'aspetto collezionistico, è un modello molto ben fatto, col fascino tecnologico dell'originale.

In my opinion, this ASG it is very suitable as a back up in the Great Game: The magazine’s 26 shots, shooting two BB taps, can untangle more than a few botched situation. The small size does not create encumbrance, and the shape ensures good grip even when shooting instinctively.

As a clinker, it irs a must, amusing and not so noising: a real tincan killer.

In terms of reenactment, this KWA find no large spaces, if not amid fans of contemporary special forces or police. But here we pass a sad border, and it is better to change the subject ...
Under the collectible aspect, it is a very well done model, with the charm of the original technology.

 

Nella mia personalissima classifica, a questa cenerentola dagli occhi a mandorla e dal cuore svizzero assegno un voto fra il sei ed il sette.

In my personal ranking, I rate this slant-eyed and Swiss hearted Cinderella between the six and seven, out of ten.
