STORIA

La casa produttrice tedesca poteva vantare un iniziale ed indubbio successo tecnologico e commerciale con la sua modello 1896, e le pistole derivate. Negli anni '30 tuttavia il settore delle pistole la vedeva in posizione di netto svantaggio rispetto alla concorrenti tedesche; i suoi progetti più recenti datavano alla fine della prima guerra mondiale, e non erano stati premiati da un grosso riscontro commerciale.
Così, mentre erano aggiornate le pistole presenti in catalogo, i tecnici si misero all'opera su un'arma adatta alle esigenze del mercato, e che recepisse tutte le ultime innovazioni tecniche.
La categoria scelta fu quella delle "taschenpistole", le pistole da tasca. Si trattava (e si tratta) di armi di medio calibro, con sistema di chiusura a massa, pensate per impieghi di polizia e difesa personale, e (secondo il costume dell'epoca) portate non nella fondina, ma in una tasca della giacca o del cappotto, allora immancabili capi dell'abbigliamento indossati in ogni stagione.
In realtà, se non il primo è certo fra i primi casi di design, in cui l'organizzazione meccanica dell'oggetto ed il suo aspetto sono conseguenti a determinati criteri d'impiego, oltre che alla struttura interna.
Il calibro scelto fu il 7,65 mm (.32ACP), anche se nel dopoguerra vi si affiancò il 9 mm corto (.380ACP).
L'arma funziona in singola e doppia azione, ed è dotata di un cane che è possibile armare manualmente; la leva della sicurezza, posta sul fianco sinistro del carrello, sottrae il percussore all'azione del cane, e lo blocca.
Il caricatore, monofilare e capace di 8 colpi, è alloggiato nel calcio, e trattenuto da un fermo posto alla sua base.
Le caratteristiche tecniche della HSc si uniscono ad un design straordinariamente moderno, tanto da farle guadagnare l'appellativo di "aerodinamica". Pensata per rimanere in una tasca, e per esserne estratta senza ostacoli, la sua linea è rastremata e priva di spigoli.
Il cane sporge solamente per la sua piccola estremità, senza per questo essere disagevole all'uso, mentre la guardia del grilletto si raccorda al castello con un elemento triangolare.
La linea di mira è ricavata da una fresatura alla sommità del castello; le mire sono fisse, del tipo corrente all'epoca (ossia minuscole e male acquisibili con scarsa luce), e del resto, questa pistola non è stata pensata per il tiro di precisione.
La Mauser HSc, impostata nel 1934, comparve in forze sul mercato germanico col 1937, e fu un successo... durato poco.
L'anno successivo, a tutti i tedeschi fu proibito di detenere armi, e quelle in loro possesso furono requisite.
In compenso, la nuova automatica attirò l'attenzione delle forze armate del Reich, ed in particolare della Kriegsmarine e della Luftwaffe; la produzione riprese, e sino al termine della guerra le commesse militari la assorbirono completamente. Le HSc del periodo bellico furono oltre 250.000.
La Mauser HSc si dimostrò particolarmente adatta al porto per specialità costrette ad operare in ambienti ristretti, come il personale di volo od i carristi, e svolse onorevolmente il suo compito.
Al termine del conflitto, la produzione riprese discontinuamente sino al 1977; la Mauser fu prodotta sotto licenza anche dalla fabbrica d\'armi italiana Renato Gamba.

As usual, better say something about the gun that has inspired quite closely this replica, and is the Mauser HSC (the acronym stands for Hahn Selbstspanner Pistole ausfurung-C, which is self-loading pistol model C).

The Mauser German manufacturer could boast an original and undoubted technological and commercial success with its model 1896 pistols, and derivatives. In the 30s, however, the sector saw the guns in position of distinct disadvantage compared to competitors in Germany, as its most recent projects will date back to the end of World War I, and were not rewarded by a big commercial success.

Thus, while the guns were updated in the catalog, the technicians went to work on a weapon suited to market needs, and that had transposed all the latest technical innovations.

The category chosen was that of "taschenpistole" pocket pistols. It was (and is) a medium-caliber weapons, with a blowback system, designed for defense use and by police personnel, and (according to the custom of the time) does not bring in the holster, but in a jacket or coat pocket, then heads inevitable having those clothing worn in every season.

In fact, if the first is certainly among the first cases of design, in which the mechanical organization of the object and its appearance are the result of certain employment criteria, as well as the internal structure.

The caliber chosen was the 7.65 mm (.32 ACP), although after the war there was joined by his 9 mm Short (.380 ACP).

The hammer sticks out only because of its small end, without being uncomfortable to use, while the trigger is joined to the frame with a trigger guard junction.

The line of sight is obtained by milling the top of the slide, the sights are fixed, then the current type (ie sensitive and evil acquired in low light), and moreover, this gun was not designed for precision target shooting.

The Mauser HSC, set in 1934, appeared massively on the market in Germany by 1937, and was a success ... that did not last long.

The following year, the Germans were forbidden to own weapons, and those in their possession were confiscated.

On the other hand, the new automatic attracted the attention of the armed forces of the Reich, and in particular the Kriegsmarine and the Luftwaffe, the production stages, and until the end of the war, the military orders is completely absorbed. Beh... questo pezzo di storia non ha avuto i riflettori della Luger, ma ha un suo fascino particolare, e quindi i produttori di ASG non si sono fatti mancare l'occasione per riprodurla. Questa replica, particolarmente economica, porta i marchi della taiuanese SRC (Star Raimbow Company), per intenderci, la produttrice delle repliche WE.
Come ho detto, se esistessero dei supermercati per le ASG, questa comparirebbe sugli scaffali di tutti i discount; la confezione, piccola e giocattolosa, non si discosta dalla regola del coperchio in cartone e scatola in polistirolo formato, con misure anche abbondanti.

All'interno, la predetta replica, un pacchettino di cinopallini, e un manualetto iperconciso... ma con indicazioni bilingui e buoni disegni.
Fra l'altro, la SRC non accenna minimamente al fatto che il suo prodotto somigli quasi come una goccia d'acqua alla Mauser HSc; sul catalogo online, è descritta come "Pistol 7,65", nelle varianti nera ed argento. Una figlia illegittima e non riconosciuta, dunque... ma il sangue non è acqua.

Presa in mano, la replica mostra subito il suo maggior punto debole estetico: un prolungamento di fantasia della canna, filettato all'interno per avvitarci qualche silenziatore, e ben cerchiato di robusta plastica rossa. C'è, ma può non esserci: e qualche colpo di sega, una volta scattate le immagini per questa recensione, ha rimediato recidendo quella protuberanza.
A mio conforto, dopo l'intervento estetico la lunghezza coincide al millimetro con l'originale.

Quanto al peso, beh, siamo sullo snello: col caricatore (che pesa ben 8 - otto! - grammi) la bilancia segna duecentoventidue grammi. Non è uno scandalo, dato il prezzo, e del resto, per una replica NBB, le sollecitazioni cui resistere sono limitate.

Un altro particolare è dato dal fondello del caricatore; il tipo più frequente aveva il fondello prolungato e sagomato a rostro, per allungare il calcio e favorire la presa dell'ultimo dito; ma esisteva anche il fondello piatto, e quindi la silouette è inconsueta, ma non falsata. Assente, invece, è il pulsante di fermo del caricatore.

I comandi disponibili nella replica sono due: il grilletto, del tipo per doppia azione e correttamente riprodotto nella forma, e la leva di sicurezza, che svolge anche qui la stessa funzione.
Il cane è solamente aggiunto come ornamento estetico, in posizione armata; per la particolare forma dell'originale, il suo aspetto rimane abbastanza realistico.

Sul lato destro del carrello sono rappresentati la finestra di espulsione e l'estrattore.
Sempre sul carrello, sono ben riprodotti le fresature per la presa d'armamento (a dire il vero, un po' abbondanti nel numero) e le mire.

Cari "amici del marchio", qui per voi non c'è trippa! la replica ha solo impressi il logo del produttore e l'indicazione Made in Taiwan.

Le guancette sono corrette nella forma, ma orribili nel materiale: una plastica luccicante come una ragazzina che entra in discoteca...

Il caricatore...
Qui è necessario precisare che questa replica è una NBB di prima generazione, col serbatoio installato nel calcio, e non nel caricatore. Quest'ultimo, per forza di cose, diventa un parallelepipedo striminzito.

Il sistema di funzionamento,che ho trovato simile già in una replica della HFC, è a "cielo aperto"; ossia, per rifornirlo, si abbassa l'elevatore sino a farlo ingaggiare da un fermo. Quindi si infilano i dieci pallini che sono la massima capienza nel magazzino; non ci sono labbra o fermi, e quindi attenti a non sganciare inavvertitamente l'elevatore od inclinare il caricatore.
Infine, si introduce il caricatore nell'alloggiamento, e lo si spinge in alto con un gesto rapido e deciso. Una esitazione, ed il fermo scatta anzitempo, liberando i pallini all'interno della replica... poco bello, vero?
In compenso, questo metodo di alimentazione garantisce un funzionamento quasi esente da inceppamenti.

Il serbatoio di gas si rifornisce da una valvola posta alla base del calcio: funziona bene, e per ora non ha perdite. L'autonomia, dato il tipo di replica, è sull'ordine dei 60 - 80 bb.

Poichè il manuale non ne parla, lo faccio io, e descrivo lo smontaggio.
La replica si compone di tre parti principali: due semigusci a formare il castello, ed uno che simula il carrello, oltre, naturalmente alle guancette.

 

Per scomporla, si toglie innanzitutto il caricatore.
Svitando la vite che le trattiene, si rimuovono le guancette.
Usando un cacciavite grosso od una lama robusta, si preme verso l'esterno il cerchio in plastica rossa posto attorno alla protuberanza della canna. Poichè è trattenuto da un risalto, occorrerà forzare un pochino per i primi millimetri.
Usando un cacciavite od una lama sottile, infilata fra leva e castello, si sfila verso l'esterno la sicura rimuovendola.
A questo punto, si può sfilare il carrello, sollevandolo e facendolo scorrere verso l'avanti.
Rimangono scoperte quattro visi ai lati del castello; rimuovendole, è possibile separare i due gusci che lo formano, scoprendo il meccanismo.

Il sistema interno è del tipo a doppia azione, ossia in cui, a parte il gas di sparo, tutta l'energia per il ciclo di tiro è fornita dal dito del tiratore.
Le parti della meccanica sono in metallo, e l'organizzazione funziona con un sistema a canna rinculante.

Il serbatoio del gas è in metallo, in più parti. Per quanto ho provato, non trafila, e si rifornisce rapidamente, ma è impossibile svuotarlo senza smontare la replica.
Col caricatore rifornito ed inserito, il pallino, una volta liberato l'elevatore, sale sino a collocarsi fra la canna ed il gruppo gas.
Tirando il grilletto, che nonostante la forma è del tipo scorrevole, questo contemporaneamente fa arretrare la canna, che incamera il BB, e carica la molla del cane.
Quando la canna è completamente arretrata, risulta unita allo sfogo del gruppo gas, e in quel momento il cane si abbatte, colpendo la valvola d'uscita, e quindi rilasciando il gas che raggiunge il proiettile.
La canna è in alluminio, e, compresa la camera, è lunga 85 millimetri, quasi come l'originale; ll diametro interno l'ho misurato fra i 6,3 e 6,5 millimetri. Ovviamente, di hop up non se ne parla proprio...
Rilasciando il grilletto, cane e canna tornano nella posizione di quiete grazie a due molle, e sale un altro pallino dal caricatore.
Tutto è semplice e senza fronzoli, ma funziona in modo ineccepibile, tenendo sempre presente la fascia di prezzo in cui si colloca questa piccola ASG.

Bene, è tempo di passare all'azione.
La replica si impugna bene, e la doppia azione non pare pesante (anche se misurandola si attesta sopra ai quattro chili, al massimo sforzo) e non ha impuntamenti. La corsa è breve: un centimetro esatto.
Le mire sono fedeli all'originale, ossia piccole e male acquisibili; la HSc non era nata per il tiro al bersaglio.
Tiro alcune serie a cinque metri.

La precisione è nella media, frutto senz'altro della mia capacità ridotta, con rosate comunque inferiori ai quattro centimetri di diametro, ma spostate a sinistra del punto di mira.
Non ho cronografo, ma credo che la potenza sia un bel pezzo sotto lo joule.

I tempi di tiro, analizzati mediante la registrazione sonora, sono buoni: la serie di cinque colpi è stata esaurita in meno di 1,7 secondi.
 

Il singolo tiro avviene in circa otto centesimi di secondo, con pochissime interferenze meccaniche. La banda sonora finale è l'impatto contro il bersaglio, posto a circa un metro e mezzo dal punto di sparo.

Bene, qui finisce la classica recensione, ma rimane ancora qualcosa da raccontare.
La HSc mancava alla mia piccole collezione, anche se con le pecche estetiche che ho raccontato; ma questa replica merita almeno un po' di cosmesi.
Ho deciso quindi di simulare la canna nella finestra di espulsione, e di dipingere le guancette in color legno.
Non credo valga la pena simulare il metallo: da un lato, le tracce di stampaggio, le fessure alla guardia del grilletto e i marchi posticci mostrerebbero comunque il modello sotto al trucco, e dall'altro i colori metallici tendono a resistere poco.
Questo giocattolo di tanto in tanto lo carico e lo uso; è divertente, anche se non rincula.
La prima miglioria, dunque, è stata semplice: dell'alluminio adesivo in nastro, applicato con cautela e rifilato con un cutter ha portato al risultato desiderato.

La riproduzione del legno è una tecnica ripresa dal modellismo, e dato che forse a qualcuno potrà servire, spendo due parole per raccontarla.

Per lavorare, servono della paglietta di ferro, della benzina per smacchiare, un buon pennello, dell'olio per mobili, e dei colori acrilici opachi nelle tonalità giallo oro o paglierino, terra d'ombra, terra di Siena bruciata e nero.
Gli acrilici sono offerti sul mercato in una grande varietà di tipologie, dallo smalto murale al tubetto per artisti. Offrono alcuni vantaggi non indifferenti: sono inodori o quasi, asciugano molto rapidamente divenendo impermeabili, si diluiscono con acqua e sciolgono con alcol o ammoniaca, hanno in genere una buona tenuta.
Qui ho utilizzato del colore per hobbistica, reperito in un centro del il fai da te; lo si trova in flaconi abbastanza grandi, a costi accettabili.
La prima operazione consiste nel preparare le guancette, passandoci sopra senza paura della paglia di ferro. Si ottengono due risultati, simulando l'usura e preparando la superficie al colore.
Le superfici da dipingere devono poi essere lavate con della benzina, per rimuovere eventuali tracce di grasso; durante lo stampaggio, i gusci sono lubrificati per facilitare il distacco dei pezzi.
A questo punto, si applica il colore giallo, che deve essere vivace; qui ho usato il giallo dorato, ma anche il paglierino garantisce un buon risultato. Non importa che sia steso uniformemente, ma tutte le superfici devono essere coperte, se del caso applicando una seconda ed una terza mano.
Il colore deve asciugare, senza seccarsi completamente.
Si passa quindi al terra di Siena bruciata; lo si diluisce molto, e si lavano le guancette, lasciando che il colore si accumuli nei recessi o si addensi in alcuni punti.
Una volta asciugata questa mano di acrilico, si passa al nero, ancora più diluito.
Il colore adesso deve seccarsi per bene.
Il tocco finale lo offre una passata di olio per mobili, che dona una lucentezza soffice e naturale.
Il risultato riproduce abbastanza bene l'essenza fiammata con cui a volte si realizzavano le calciature.

Volendo ricreare le venature, le si tratteggia con una matita, e le si incide dopo aver steso la mano di giallo. Questo lavoro però dura poco, se poi si maneggiano le superfici.

Il risultato, giudicatelo voi.

E infine, la valutazione.

Come vero back up per il Gioco, non è una cattiva scelta; è compatta, affidabile, e tirando coglie la sagoma ad una diecina di metri. I pallini sono pochi, e non si possono portare caricatori di scorta, ma la ricarica è quasi immediata, se si tiene sottomano uno speed loader.

Il reenactment è il suo terreno naturale. Sui campi di battaglia c'è stata, e come ordinanza o preda ha rassicurato molti giovani uomini dalle paure della battaglia. Col piccolo intervento estetico descritto, credo faccia la sua figura, anche solo impugnata.

Il tiro? Lasciamo perdere... questa ASG è una barattolaia nata e cresciuta,e niente più.

Nella collezione, ha un suo posto; l'arma originale è stata certamente riprodotta, ma in modelli ormai divenuti introvabili, o molto costosi. Chi vuole, può lavorarci sopra ricolorandola, o addirittura rifacendo le guancette in legno.

Alla fine, tenuto conto che si tratta di un prodotto fra i più economici nel mercato delle NBB, il voto sta fra il sei ed il sette; e non fosse per le troppe licenze estetiche, sarebbe anche superiore.

The replica sits well, and the double action does not seem heavy (even if measures were above the four pounds, at maximum stress) and has no hard spots. The ride is short: one centimeter.

The sights are faithful to the original: small, ill acquired, and the HSC was not born to the sharpshooting.

Shooting some series to five meters.

The accuracy is average, certainly the fruit of my reduced capacity, with a hit area, however, less than four centimeters in diameter, but shifted to the left of the aiming point.

I did not watch, but I think the power is a good piece below the joule.

The time of shooting, analyzed by the sound recording are good: the series of five shots was exhausted in less than 1.7 seconds. The single shot takes about eight hundredths of a second, with very few mechanical interference.

Well, here ends the classic review, but there is still something to tell.

The HSC was missing in my small collection, but with the aesthetic flaws that I have told, but this replica is worth at least a little cosmetic.

So I decided to simulate the barrel in the ejection port, and to paint wooden grips.

I do not think it is worthwhile to simulate the metal, the traces of mold, the cracks in the trigger guard and brands hairpieces still shows the model under the makeup, and other metallic colors tend to resist a little. This toy from time to time the loading and use, its fun, though not recoil.

The first improvement, therefore, was simple: aluminum adhesive tape, carefully applied and trimmed with a cutter brought the desired result.

Reproduction of wood is a technique taken from the modelling, and given that maybe can help someone, I say a few words to describe it.

To work, it needs steel wool, cleaning solvent, a good brush, oil for furniture, and in shades of acrylic matte gold or straw yellow, umber, burnt sienna and black.

They offer some considerable advantages: they are odorless or nearly, dry very quickly becoming impermeable, are diluted with water and dissolved with alcohol or ammonia, usually have a good seal.

Here I used the color for hobbies, found in a bricolage center, you can find it in bottles big enough and affordable.

The first step is to prepare the grips, running over them without fear of steel wool. You get two results, simulating wear and preparing for color the surface.

The surfaces to be painted should then be washed with petrol to remove any traces of fat, during molding, the shells are lubricated to facilitate the detachment of the pieces.
