Dalla nota azienda americana Tru-Spec, un comodo e capiente borsone da trasporto.

A very useful big transport bag from the well-known american company Tru-Spec.
 

Non si ha sempre e solo bisogno di zaini tattici da portare con noi durante le nostre operazioni: nei viaggi di spostamento da casa/base al luogo di inizio operazioni abbiamo bisogno di una valigia o altro che ci consenta di trasportare tutto il nostro equipaggiamento, dalla mimetica al tattico.
Questo resistente e capiente borsone è proprio ciò di cui abbiamo bisogno in queste situazioni.
Il GI Spec Duffle Bag della Tru-Spec è costruito interamente in nylon ad alta densità, ben 1000 denari, e misura da aperto 60cm per 90cm.
Può essere trasportato sia a spalla grazie ai due spallacci imbottiti, si a mano tramite la maniglia laterale.
Andiamolo a vedere meglio.

We don't need always only tactical backpacks to carry on during our operations: for movements from house/base to operation area we need for a travelling bag or other that allows us to carry all our equipment, BDU, tactical vest and so on.
This resistant and capacious bag is certainly what we need for in this situations.
The Tru-Spec GI Spec Duffle Bag is entirely made of hig density nylon of 1000 deniers and it measures 24" x 36" opened.
It can be carried on by the two padded shoulder straps or by the side handle.
Let's see it better.


 

Ecco la sacca stesa. In basso al centro possiamo vedere la maniglia da trasporto, mentre sulla destra troviamo il gancio e gli anelli che costituiscono l'insolito e "retrò" sistema di chiusura, che vedremo nel dettaglio più avanti.

Dobbiamo notare anche le doppie cuciture, garanzia di resistenza.

Misuriamo la lunghezza della sacca.   -   Let's measure the bag's lenght.

90 cm, come da descrizione del produttore.   -   90 cm (36 inches), as producer's specs.

Particolare della maniglia di trasporto. Le abbondanti cuciture e le patches di rinforzo alle estremità permettono alla maniglia di reggere il peso della borsa a pieno carico.

Vicino alla maniglia da trasporto troviamo una piccola tasca e ancora oltre gli spallacci per trasportare la sacca a spalla.

Near to the handle there is a small pouch and beyond there are the two shoulder straps.


 

La piccola tasca, chiusa da un bottone a pressione. Davvero di ridotte dimensioni, non serve a molto... anzi, direi assolutamente inutile in una sacca di questo tipo.

The small pouch, closed by a snap button. Really small, it isn't so useful... rather it's absolutely useless in this type of bag.


 

Particolare degli spallacci, parte superiore. Gli spallacci sono formati da un'unica robusta striscia di nylon che nella parte alta forma una specie di "M".
Sul lato degli spallacci rivolto verso il torace troviamo cucita una imbottitura che rende più comodo il trasporto della sacca.
Una striscia di rinforzo cucita in orizzontale copre e rende molto più resistente l'attaccatura degli spallacci alla sacca.

Particular of shoulder straps, upper area. Shoulder straps are formed by a single strong nylon band that on the upper part has a "M" shape.
On the side of shoulder straps toward chest we found a padding that makes more comfortable to carry on the bag.
A reinforcing horizontal patch covers and makes more resistant the shoulder straps attachment to the bag.


 

Anche nella attaccatura inferiore degli spallacci è presente la toppa di rinforzo saldamente cucita.

Also in the lower attachment area of shoulder straps there is a reinforcing patch strongly sewn.


 

Sistema di regolazione della lunghezza degli spallacci... non certo un modello moderno, ma certamente molto resistente.

Ecco un'etichetta che non avremmo voluto vedere, anche se dal catalogo tru-Spec sapevamo già che la sacca non era di produzione statunitense data la scritta "Imported".

Here a label we wouldn't never see, but reading the Tru-Spec catalogue we already know that this bag is not produced in the U.S. from the caption "Imported".


 

E adesso veniamo alla prova vera e propria. Abbiamo riempito al massimo la sacca con mimetiche, abbigliamento vario e asciugamani.

Now we do the real test. We have filled at maximum the bag with BDU, various clothes and towels.


 

Per consentire la corretta chiusura , dobbiamo riempirla fino al livello come da foto, cioè fino al punto in cui la patella di chiusura è cucita alla sacca.

To allow the right closure, we must fill the bag up to the level where the closure flap is attached to the bag, as shown in this photo.


 

Quindi coprire il contenuto con la patella di chiusura...   -   Then cover contents of bag with closure flap...

...piegare per primo il lembo in cui si trova il perno di chiusura...   -   ...fold for first side with closure pin...

...quindi la parte destra (o sinistra, indifferentemente) inserendo il perno dentro l'occhiello...

...then the right side (or left side, it's the same) insert the pin into the metal eye...

...proseguire poi con il lato sinistro...   -   ... continue with the left side...

...premendo bene affinché il perno esca fuori...   -   ...pushing down well to take out the pin...

...chiudere quindi l'ultimo lembo...   -   ...then close the last corner...

...e infine chiudere il tutto agganciando il moschettone al perno.   -   ...finally close all corners hooking the snap-hook to the pin.

Proviamo ad indossarlo. Sinceramente mi aspettavo fosse molto più scomodo.
Benché sia chiaro che stiamo parlando di una sacca/zaino da viaggio e non certo da utilizzo tattico, lo zaino non pesa eccessivamente sulle spalle, ovviamente se utilizzato per camminare su terreno agevole e non per lunghi tragitti. Dobbiamo sempre considerare che data l'enorme capacità di carico, il peso che questo zaino completamente riempito ci farà caricare sulle spalle sarà decisamente alto.

Let's try to carry on it. Sincerely I must say I thought that this bag was really more uncomfortable.
Even though it's clear that we are talk about a bag/backpack for transport and not for a tactical use, this backpack doesn't weigh extremely on shoulders, obviously if used to walk on easy ground and not for long distance. We must always consider that the very big load capacity means that the weight of this bag full filled will be very high.


 

Vista laterale dello zaino caricato sulle spalle. Da questa foto possiamo apprezzare bene le generose dimensioni della Tru-Spec GI Spec Duffle Bag.
Per dare un valore univoco della capacità di questa sacca, calcoliamone brevemente il volume: stesa misura 90cm x 60cm, ovvero un cilindro di 90 cm di altezza con una base di 120cm di circonferenza (dato che il lato corto della sacca stesa misura 60cm). Data la circonferenza, troviamo che il raggio è circa 20cm (120cm / 3,14 / 2) e quindi arriviamo ad un volume di ben 113 dm cubici, ovvero 113 litri !

To give an exact measure of bag capacity, let's calculate the volume: the empty bag measures 90cm x 60cm (36" x 24"), that is a cylinder of 90cm - 36" height and a round base of 120cm - 48" circumference (since the short side of empty bag is 60cm - 24"). Given the circumference we have a radius of about 20cm - 7.6" (48" / 3.14 / 2) then the rusult is a volume of 113 liters !


 

Tenere la sacca impugnandola per la maniglia di trasporto è davvero scomodo, può essere fatto solo per sollevarla perché dato l'ingombro della sacca, risulta praticamente impossibile camminare.

Holding up the bag by the transport handle is really uncomfortable, it can be done only to raise up the bag because its dimensions make impossible to walk with it.


 

Conclusioni
Qualcuno si starà chiedendo... ma per questo scopo posso utilizzare un qualunque borsone o valigia, oppure un grande zaino da escursionismo, perché dovrei aver bisogno di questa sacca?
Tralasciando il fatto che borse e valigie per la loro costruzione potrebbero non riuscire a sostenere lo stesso peso della Tru-Spec GI Spec Duffle Bag, una volta svuotati dal loro contenuto, dove li riponiamo? Restano comunque troppo ingombranti per essere portati con noi in una tasca del tattico o in uno zainetto.
Nelle foto qui sopra potete vedere come la sacca diventi davvero piccola una volta ripiegata, possiamo tranquillamente metterla dentro ad un butt pack o in uno zainetto.
Disponibile nei colori Olive Drab (come quello recensito), Foliage Green, Nero e ACU, il prezzo davvero contenuto richiesto per la Tru-Spec GI Spec Duffle Bag la rende un sicuro affare, solo 40 dollari.

Conclusions
Someone can ask... "but for this purpose I can use any other bag or suitcase, or a big backpack for hiking, why should I need for this bag?
Not considering that normal bags or suitcase due to their construction can't resist to the same weight of Tru-Spec GI Spec Duffle Bag, once you empty of their contents, where you put them? They are too bulky to take them with us in a pouch or into a small backpack.
In these photos you can see how the bag of this review becomes small once folded; you can easily put it into a butt pack o a small backpack.
Available in Olive Drab (as the one of this review), Foliage Green, Black and ACU; the very low price of Tru-Spec GI Spec Duffle Bag make it a great bargain, only 40 dollars.
