CLAW GEAR – Never in Anger.


La società NWM Technologies GmbH, con sede a Tiste, nella Bassa Sassiona, è una realtà relativamente nuova nell'ambiente, ma si sta distinguendo per realizzazione tecniche veramente degne di nota. 
Principalmente abbigliamento, ma di recente anche tasche, giubbetti tattici e altri accessori.
L'anno scorso era comparsa e circolata in sordina la loro prima combinazione di giacca e pantaloni, nel particolare mimetismo AOR SOCOM, una sorta di Marpat woodland. 
Presentava un misto di caratteristiche da completo combat e field, ginocchiere integrate, tasche e passanti MOLLE sparsi tutto intorno. Molto interessante, ma anche molto pesante e difficile da reperire.
Persino il loro primo sito è rimasto off-line per diverso tempo, facendo temere il peggio per chi era interessato, come il sottoscritto, all'oggetto in questione. 
Ora, ritorna in grande quantità di pezzi e di mimetismi, con importanti migliorie apportate ai prodotti, realizzati con una perizia tutta tedesca.

 The company Nwm Technologies GmbH, based in Tiste, in the lower Sassiona, is a relatively a brand new, but it is distinguishing for the techniques of the products made.
Mostly clothing, but also recently pouches, tactical vests and other accessories.
Last year make the appearance and quietly circulated their first combination of jacket and pants, in the particular AOR SOCOM camouflage, a sort of greenish Marpat.
It featured a mixture of features from combat to field dress uniform: integrated kneepad, pockets and MOLLE loops scattered all around. Very interesting, but also very heavy and difficult to find.
Even their first site remained off-line for some time, prompting fears the worst for those interested, like me, in the object in question.
Now, its back. In large quantities of parts and camouflage, with important product improvements. 

 

AOR SOCOM – A CAMO FROM CLAW GEAR.

 

 

 Il mimetismo del completo recensito viene chiamato AOR SOCOM o più spesso solamente SOCOM è stato ideato proprio dalla CLAW GEAR che ne ha la paternità dei brevetti. 
E' digitale, in tinte molto chiare tendenti al verde chiaro. 
A prima vista ricorda una MARPAT scolorita o una VEGETATA.
Si è rivelato molto valido in presenza di vegetazione autunnale, mentre incontra alcuni limiti in ombra e con vegetazione rigogliosa.
La sua trama digitale comunque spezza molto bene la figura e rende difficile l'individuazione dell'operatore.

 

 The camouflage of the product reviewed is called AOR SOCOM, or often only SOCOM, was created by the CLAW GEAR, which is the author of the patents.

CLAW GEAR MARK II – STALKER JACKET, PANTS & BOONIE AOR SOCOM.

 

 I tre pezzi che compongono questo completo detto “Stalker” sono stati reperiti tramite il negozio Di Rito Softair di Montesilvano (PE), che ringrazio, e consegnati a mezzo corriere espresso in 24h dall'ordine. Un buon inizio.
Aperto l'imballaggio di spedizione, il completo è suddiviso in due sacchetti tipo lavanderia ed una bustina di plastica più piccola contenente il cappello.

 Sulle buste in tessuto acrilico è impresso il logo della Claw Gear ed il loro motto “Never in Anger”, traduzione “mai in collera”. All'interno la giacca ed i pantaloni... e cominciamo la recensione.

STALKER AOR SOCOM JACKET – MARK II

 

 Realizzata in misto di cotone al 65%, al tatto appare molto robusta e discretamente pesante.

La giacca è stata probabilmente pensata come un misto tra un giaccone da campo tipo smock ed una giacca combat di nuova generazione con le gomitiere interne.

 

 Made of cotton blend of 65%, the touch is very sturdy and quite heavy. 
The jacket was probably designed as a cross between a field type smock jacket and a new generation of combat jacket with internal padded protection. 

 

 

 

 La giacca si chiude per mezzo di una robusta cerniera YKK e con grossi bottoni tipo canadese, che riportano la scritta CLAW GEAR bene in rilievo.

 

 The jacket is closed by a sturdy YKK zipper and with large canadian's type buttons with CLAW GEAR in relief. 

 

 

 Frontalmente, presenta sul petto due GROSSE tasche con chiusura a bottone, che impedisce di fatto la fuoriuscita dei materiali stivati in essa.

 

 On the front, it has two large chest pockets with button closure, which effectively prevents the escape of material stored in it. 

 

 

 

 La tasca presenta al di sotto un occhiello di tessuto, una seconda tasca inferiore con chiusura a zip verticale e, sopra di essa una fila di pals in molle coperti di velcro femmina. Come se non bastasse, un occhiello elastico sporge in alto, adatto a fissare il paracord di chiavi e fischietti.
In più, abbiamo frontalmente un classico portagradi con bottone automatico.

 

 The pocket has a fabric eyelet below, a second lower pocket with vertical zipper, and above it a row of MOLLE pals in covered with velcro female. What's more, an elastic loop protrudes at the top, suitable to fix the paracord key and whistles.

In addition, we have a classic ranks holder with snap. 

 

 

 

 Al di sotto di questi tasconi, troviamo due discrete tasche con chiusura a zip.

 Posteriormente, un dettaglio degno di nota è la cucitura a soffietto sulle spalle, d'obbligo oggi.

 

 On the back, note the kind of sewings for the shoulder, to reduce stress, while moving.

 

 

 Sulle braccia troviamo quindi una tasca omerale con un grosso pannello di stoffa removibile che nasconde il velcro sotto di esso, adatto a patch ed identificativi. 

 

 On the arms, a omeral pocket covered with a velcroed panel, for patch and so on.

 

 

 Sopra troviamo un occhiello di cui sinceramente non ho capito la funzione.

 Al di sotto, la classica tasca omerale.

 Parlando delle protezioni, sulle braccia troviamo all'altezza dei gomiti due generose protezioni in poliuretano con scudo esterno in plastica. 
La sicurezza della posizione viene garantita sul velcro agli estremi.

 

 Speaking of the protection, on the arms we found the elbow pad, integrated. Made in polyurethane with the external shield in plastic.

 

 

 

 Anche se di dimensioni veramente generose, la protezione si sente appena ed è veramente adeguata quando capita di dover andare pancia a terra di colpo.

 Sfilarle ed infilarle ad uso lavanderia è un'opera di ingenio, ma basta poco per farci l'abitudine e capire dove agire per infirlarle correttamente.

 Esternamente la zona è rinforzata con cordura, con un mimetismo simile a quello del tessuto usato per il resto della giacca, solamente più chiaro.

 Nella precedente versione, sui polsi erano presenti una tasca porta GPS tipo Foretrex 101 a sinistra e due porta caricatori per pistola sulla destra. Utili, ma eccessivamente pesanti.

 

 On the previous version of the shirt, the wrist had a GPS pouch on the left, for Garmin Foretrex 101 and similar and two pistol magazine pouch on the right. Useful, but heavy.

 In questa versione, definita MKII, i polsi presentano la classica chiusura per regolazio a velcro ed un piccolo lembo di tessuto da utilizzare per coprire il dorso della mano ed evitare di scroprire i polsi.

Ovviamente si può ripiegare su se stesso tramite velcro.

 Il collo della giacca presenta la classica e già vista chiusura detta “mandarina”, con velcro.

Personalmente non la ritengo eccessivamente comoda, ma sono gusti personali.

Posteriormente si trova una seconda cerniera, più sottile e non troppo convincente, che permette di assicurare il cappuccio in dotazione alla giacca, riconducendo alle sue origini di smock.

 

 On the back of the neck, it has a secondary zip, smaller and not so convincing, that permit to fix the hood to the shirt, like a smock. 

 

 

 

 

 Il cappuccio ha una chiusura frontale a mezzo di velcri, cordino elastico e fettuccia posteriore di regolazione.

 

 The hood has a frontal closure by velcro, and string and fabric strip to regulate it on the front and back.

 

 

 

 Fissare lo stesso con la cerniera ed i velcri è relativamente semplice, mentre chiuderlo dentro al colletto non lo è per niente.
Una volta chiuso dentro al colletto, il cappuccio, garantirà un sostegno cervicale degno di un collare ortopedico. 
E' molto scomodo.
Inoltre, il cappuccio è scarsamente idrorepellente, essendo fatto dello stesso materiale della giacca, quindi anche in caso di pioggia garantisce poco o niente. 
Personalmente, l'ho rimosso.

 

 Fix it with velcro and zip is easy, but fold it into the neck is very difficult, in also when folded make the neck too rigid, like a orthopedical collar.
The hood is made with the same fabric of the shirt and so it is poorly rain-proof. 
Personally, I removed it.

 L'interno della giacca è complesso come l'esterno.
All'altezza della spalla sinistra, troviamo un pezzetto di fettuccia elastica, che a destra manca. 

Ignoro la sua funzione ed il perché a destra non ci sia.

 

 The internal of the jacket is complex like the exterior.
On the left shoulder, I found a small piece of elastic webbing, that misses on the right. I ignore its function and because there is not on the right.

 

 

 

Una ulteriore tasca interna, con etichetta, nel caso abbiate necessità di un'altra tasca... ancora.

 Alle ascelle troviamo del tessuto acrilico traspirante, che in combinazione con le zip all'esterno assicura la circolazione dell'aria.

 Alla vita, un soffietto antivento da chiudere a mezzo velcro e fissato alla giacca con cerniera, come per il cappuccio. 
E' apprezzabile, ma la giacca è troppo corta per validarne l'utilizzo.

 Nonostante l'aspetto imponente, una volta in uso la giacca si è rivelata comoda e non troppo pesante.

STALKER AOR SOCOM PANTS – MARK II

 

 In questi pantaloni ci sono tasche ovunque!
Alcune sono straordinarie. Altre invece sembrano il risultato di una scommessa dei produttori che ne hanno cucite alcune che sembrano dire “Visto? Siamo riusciti a metterne una pure qui e non serve a nulla!”. 
Idea personale.
Partiamo dal fondo, con ordine.

 

 On those pants, there are pocket everywhere!
Some are awesome. Some other seems the result of a bet betweens the producers, who sewn some of that just to say "Ehi man! know what? We managed to put another one here... and its useless!"
Personal idea.
Start from the botton, with order.

Alle caviglie abbiamo una funzionale chiusura in gomma che riporta CLAW GEAR impressa su di essa. Funziona, non è solo figurativa e mal funzionante come avviene di norma in questi casi.

 

 On the ankles we have a functional rubber closure showing CLAW GEAR imprinted on it. It works, it is not only figurative and not functioning as it does normally in such cases.

 

 

 

 Poco sopra, una cerniera e poco tessuto acrilico permettono di aprire alle caviglie per i motivi che ritenete necessari.

 

 Just above, a zip and some acrylic fabric permit to open the anke if you need it.

 Sul polpaccio una tasca portacaricatori. O meglio, quella che ritengo sia una tasca portacaricatori. 
Dimensionalmente ci siamo, ma ancora non mi è chiaro il perché si debba infilare un caricatore da quelle parti.
La chiusura è a mezzo bottone canadese, almeno siamo sicuri di non perdere nulla.
All'interno si trova della ecopelle grigia, probabilmente posizionata per evitare che i bordi taglienti di un serbatoio non vadano a danneggiare la mimetica stessa.
All'esterno due file di pals, utili per infilarci dentro dei Cyalume.

 

 

 On the calf, a magazine pouch. Better, what I think it is.
Dimensionally is right. But I can't figure why I have to put a magazine here.
The closure is through a canadian button, so we lose nothing.
On the inside some grey fake-leather, probably put inside so the edges of the magazine will not cut the uniform.
On the exterior, two rows of MOLLE pals, nice for Cyalume.

 

 

 

 

 Come per le gomitiere, anche le ginocchiere le soluzioni adottate sono le stesse.
Differisce solamente per la possibilità di aprire frontalmente la cordura (a mezzo velcro) per installare o rimuovere le ginocchiere. 
Nella parte esterna, oltre alla cordura, troviamo le regolazioni delle ginocchiere: una volta regolate in maniera corretta, non si spostano, non tirano, non danno fastidio quando andiamo ginocchio a terra. Fantastiche.
L'aspetto negativo riscontrato è la scarsa resistenza al lavaggio da parte del tessuto tan che ricopre la ginocchiera. 
Niente di importante, però.

 

 As for the elbow pad, than the kneepad use the same solutions.
The only difference is the positioning system, here we open the cordura, closed via velcro, put inside the kneepad and close.
On the exterior, in addition to the cordura, those kneepad has a regulation system. When you place it correctly, the kneepad won't move. Awesome.

 

 

 
 Le tasche cargo sono veramente ben realizzate.

 

 The cargo pocket also are well made.

 

 

 

 Fatta esclusione per il pannellino velcrato, che personalmente ritengo inutile, il resto della tasca è godibile.

 

 Excluding the external velcro panel, the rest of the pocket is enjoyable.

 La prima chiusura consiste in un automatico in metallo, che può essere bloccato in posizione aperta, se dovessimo usare la tasca come portacaricatori esausti.

 

 The first closure is an automatic metal button, that can be hold open if we use the cargo as a dump pouch.

 

 

 

La seconda, è il consueto canadese in plastica, che rende virtualmente impossibile la fuoriuscita dei materiali stivati.

 The second is the canadian style button.

 

 

 Poi abbiamo una prima tasca esterna, ed una più interna, che presenta degli scomparti ed un anellino in plastica a cui paracordare il materiale, come per le tasche pettorali. Ora, tutto questo è molto bello, ma mi è già capitato un paio di volte di infilarci dentro la mano e non trovare in quale delle due tasche avevo infilato qualcosa. Un accendino risulta attualmente disperso.

 Un'altra regolazione in velcro esterna permette di vestire adeguatamente i pantaloni.

 In un primo momento tutti questi velcri potrebbero fare un po' di rumore, ma con l'uso dopo qualche uscita non lo farà più.

 

Poco sopra, tra la tasca cargo e la normale tasca ai fianchi (con bordo sagomato), si trova un taschino di dubbia funzione, che non presenta alcun tipo di chiusura e quindi vista la mia propensione a smarrire i materiali, non l'ho utilizzato.

Posteriormente le classiche tasche con chiusura a bottone. Se vi riponete, ad esempio, il portafoglio, ricordate di infilarlo in una busta di plastica, per salvaguardarne il contenuto.

 

Alla vita, troviamo la chiusura con cerniera e bottone, le regolazioni dei fianchi, velcrate, gli anelli per installare le bretelle Claw Gear ed alcuni anelli inferiori per paracordare i soliti materiali che riponiamo in tasca.

 

 At the first, all of this strips make some noise, but using them will not happen again.
A little above, between the cargo pocket and the regular hips pocket (with shaped edges), we found a smaller pocket with no function, apparently. It has no closure so I didn't use it.

On the back, two normal pocket with button clusure. If you store something here, keep in mind to put in first in a plastic envelope...

On the hips, the normal closure via zip and button, the hips adjustments, the ring to place the CLAW GEAR's harness and some D-rings to paracord the stuff placed in the hips pockets.

CLAW GEAR SOCOM JUNGLE HAT.

 

 Il cappello non presenta eccezionali innovazioni, rispetto ad altri prodotti simili. 

Ha una falda regolarmente ampia, una fettuccia in cui infilare vegetazione o il paracord di emergenza, gli occhielli di ventilazione e la regolazione a mezzo automatico in plastica. 

All'interno abbiamo tessuto traspirante CoolMax(R).

 

 The hat does not have great innovations, compared to similar products. 
It has a regularly large flap, a strip of pals in which put the vegetation or paracord for emergency, ventilation eyelets and string for regulation adjustable via automatic forniture.

On the inside we found some other CoolMax(R) fabric.

 

 

 L'unica nota negativa è l'eccessiva altezza del cappello stesso.

 

 The only negative note is the same height of the hat. 

 CONCLUSIONI

In una scala da 0 a 10, in cui 0 intende un completo fallimento e dieci il completo successo, questo completo CLAW GEAR prende un 8,5.
Nel periodo di test, durato 2 mesi circa, ha evidenziato lo studio accurato a monte della realizzazione, superando le classiche prove di resistenza di un capo ad uso professionale o meno. 
Anche in condizioni di forte stress, nulla ha mancato alle premesse.
La giacca ed i pantaloni si sono rivelati eccellenti nella protezione dell'utilizzatore, comprese le ginocchiere e le gomitiere integrate che non danno fastidio in alcun modo.
La presenza di una quantità incredibile di tasche può però generare un po' di confusione, dato che di alcune se ne poteva fare tranquillamente a meno, alleggerendo così la struttura del capo in questione.
Anche il mimetismo si è comportato molto bene, considerando i limiti delle sue tonalità, come avete visto nelle foto.
Il prezzo di vendita è sicuramente adeguato.

 

 PRO: Struttura generale eccellente, ottimi materiali, cuciture ben realizzate e robuste, molte soluzioni tecniche azzeccate, prezzo ottimo.

CONTRO: alcune soluzioni tecniche eccessivamente complicate, non necessarie come il cappuccio o l'inserto della giacca; Alcuni particolari dalla funzione ignota, tasche non strettamente necessarie.

 FINAL JUDGEMENT

On a scale of 0 to 10, where zero means a complete failure and ten complete success, this CLAW GEAR STALKER takes a full 8.5.
In the test period, which lasted about 2 months, put into practice the accurate study of the producers, overcoming the traditional resistance tests of clothing for professional and less use.
Even in condition of stress, nothing fails.
The jacket and pants proved excellent for the protection of the user, including knee and elbow pads.
The presence of an incredible amount of pockets, however, may be a bit 'of confusion, since some of it could easily do without, thus relieving the structure of the clothing in question.
The camouflage has behaved very well, considering the limits of its tone, as you saw in the photos.
The selling price is certainly adequate.

 PRO: Excellent structure, excellent materials, excellent seams. Some technical solution well thinked. Good price.
CONS: Some excessive technical solution, like the hood or the shirt membrane. Some particular with no function, excessive pockets.
