Chi non ricorda il mitico film “Full Metal Jacket” in cui le reclute del corpo dei Marines Statunitensi recitano il “Credo del fuciliere”? Il fucile che imbracciavano, cui il credo, in quell’occasione, era dedicato era l’efficiente, potente, ed efficace Springfield M14.

Who can forget the legendary movie "Full Metal Jacket" in which the U.S. Marine Corps rookies recite the "Rifleman's Creed"? The gun they dedicated “The creed” was the efficient and powerful, Springfield M14.

Quest’arma derivata dallo storico M1 Garand dotazione standard dei GI americani nella Seconda Guerra Mondiale, ma camerata nel “nuovo” calibro 7,62 NATO, era già vecchia e superata quando entrò in servizio, se si pensa che la sua contropartita era l’AK 47 del Patto di Varsavia.

Eppure, così come lo stesso AK47 ed i suoi derivati, l’M14 è rimasto in servizio, seppure come arma di supporto o destinata ai tiratori scelti, fino ai giorni nostri, con piccole modifiche ed ammodernamenti.

This weapon, derived from the historical GI standard M1 Garand, but chambered in the "new" 7.62 NATO caliber, was already old and outdated when it entered service, if you think that his counterpart was the AK 47.

Yet, the same as AK47 and its derivatives, the M14 remained in service, although as a weapon designed to fire support or snipers, because of its stopping power and accuracy.

Il fucile è stato riprodotto in diverse varianti elettriche dedicate al Soft Air da Marui, G&G, Classic Army, Cyma e AGM (queste ultime due case hanno prodotto cloni del modello M14 di casa Marui). Mancava la versione a gas e ci ha pensato WE TECH, casa giapponese che delle repliche funzionanti a gas ha fatto la propria mission.

La replica è giunta in Italia ad inizio 2011 e SASMODELLSIMO ce ne ha fornita una per recensirla.

Oggi vediamo quali sono le caratteristiche di questa splendida replica in attesa di completare il test “a fuoco” sul campo di battaglia.

The rifle has been reproduced in different versions, but all with electrical power by brands such as Marui, G & G, Classic Army, Cyma and AGM (the latter two houses have produced clones of the Marui M14). There was no gas version, but WE TECH, Japanese factory wich has made its mission into production of GBB gas powered replicas, made the miracle.

The WE GBB M14 arrived in Italy in early 2011 and SASMODELLSIMO provided ASC with one rifle in order to be reviewed and tested.

Today, we will take a look to the characteristics of this beautiful GBB but, as soon as possible, this overwiuw will be completed with a test on the battlefield.

WE TECH ha replicato la versione dello M14 prodotta per l’USMC - US MARINE CORP - caratterizzata dalla calciatura in materiale sintetico.

Ha dotato la replica del sistema di propulsione a gas denominato “Open Bolt” il quale replica in maniera quasi del tutto fedele il meccanismo di sparo dell’arma vera, con l’apertura totale dell’otturatore nella fase di sparo e riarmo.

Tale scelta, pur rendendo molto più complicata la realizzazione della meccanica, ha conferito alle repliche WE dotate di Open Bolt quel tocco di realismo in più, tale da farle rientrare a parere di chi scrive, nella categoria delle PTW, ovvero Professional Training Weapons.

WE TECH made the copy of the M14 produced by Sprngfield for the USMC - U.S. Marine Corp - characterized by the plastic stock.

The GBB uses a gas propulsion system called "Open Bolt" which is an almost exact copy of the real steel firing mechanism, with the bolt fully opened during firing cycle.

This system gives to the M14 a touch of realism and, in my opinion, we can consider the Open Bolts GBB as real PTW-Professional Training Weapons.

Tutti i comandi dell’arma vera ed anche il suo smontaggio campale, sono riprodotti fedelmente.

All the controls of the weapon and also its field stripping, are faithfully reproduced.

A parte la calciatura in materiale sintetico talmente pesante da sembrare quella dell’arma vera, la replica è interamente realizzata in metallo.

Apart from the plastic stock, so heavy that it seems to be the same of the real steel weapon, this replica is made entirely of metal.

Lo smontaggio da campagna si esegue come nell'arma vera. Si sgancia il pacchetto di scatto, agendo sul ponticello del grilletto. 

Field Stripping is the same of the real steel. You have to remove the trigger mechanism and disconnect it from the weapon.

Lo smontaggio completo della replica è "lavoro" impegnativo e, quindi, consigliabile solo ad esperti e solo ed esclusivamente in caso di estrema necessità.

Sicuramente, l'intervento di depotenziamento data l'esubernza della replica è necessario ma, come detto, è meglio farlo fare a chi ne ha la competenza.

Complete weapon disassembly is a job recommended for experts and exclusively in cases of extreme necessity.

Surely, for the Italian market and games, the WE M14 needs to be reduced in power.

Prossimamente, la prova a fuoco, sul campo e sulla linea di tiro, per saggiare le potenzialità di questa splendita replica.

As soon as possible, the fire test on the field and on the firing line, to test the potential of this beautiful replica.
