L'escursionista, di conseguenza, è passato da capi realizzati in tessuti tradizionali: pesanti, scarsamente idrorepellenti e molto ingombranti; a realizzazioni in fibre sintetiche: leggere, pratiche e con prestazioni elevate in termini di comfort.
Anche l'abbigliamento militare ha seguito questa evoluzione, dai pesanti cappotti di lana ai completi multi-layers.
Ciò che andiamo a vedere in questa recensione è senza ombra di dubbio uno dei sistemi per climi rigidi tra i migliori disponibili al mercato civile.

La Ottegear è un'azienda di recente formazione, con sede a New York, che si pone come obiettivo la realizzazione di indumenti per climi rigidi adatti ad essere utilizzati nelle situazioni più critiche.
Nel dettaglio, spiegano di aver dato il via alle produzioni specificatamente per i combattenti americani, studiando e realizzando i loro prodotti attendendosi a loro precise richieste ed indicazioni.
Ed il risultato è semplicemente fantastico.
Il sistema Softshell Alpine è composto da giacca e pantaloni, acquistabili anche singolarmente.
I colori attualmente disponibili sono: Alpha Green, Ranger Green, Lt. Coyote, Sand, Black e Multicam.
Taglie disponibili da Small a 2Xlarge per la giacca e da Small a Xlarge per i pantaloni.
Il modello in oggetto è stato fornito da Tactical73.

The Ottegear is a newly formed company, based in New York, which aims to the creation of clothing for harsh climates suitable for use in critical situations.
In detail, they explain that the production has started specifically for the american forces deployed in middle east, studying and making their products under specific requests and information.
And the result is simply fantastic.
The system consists of Alpine Softshell jacket and pants, but can be purchased individually.
The colors currently available are: Alpha Green, Ranger Green, Lt. Coyote, Sand, Black and Multicam.
The sizes available range from Small to 2Xlarge for the jacket, and Small to XLarge for the pants.
The model in question was provided by Tactical73.


ALPINE Jacket - Alpha Green

 

La giacca è realizzata al 93% di polyestere ed al 7% da microfibre, con un peso totale di 850 gr, è realizzata appositamente per attività intensive a basse temperature ed il particolare disegno la rende adatta ad essere portata al di sotto di un sistema di protezione balistica o body armor.

Esternamente, il tessuto ha proprietà idrorepellenti, antistrappo, antimacchia ed ad alta traspirabilità.
Internamente, il liner è amagnetico, anti-batterico ed anti-odore.
Queste caratteristiche sono possibili grazie ai materiali di cui la giacca è realizzata: Tweave Durastretch, Schoeller Nanosphere, Tetratex e X - Static , comuni denominatori di gran parte dei capi tecnici attualmente disponibili sul mercato.

Le tasche, 4 in totale, si dividono in 2 grandi tasche nella zona ventrale e due più piccole omerali, poste al di sotto di pannelli velcrati.

The jacket is made of 93% of polyester and 7% from microfiber, with a total weight of 850 grams, and is made especially for intensive activities in cold weather with a special design makes it suitable to be worn under a system of ballistic protection or body armor.

All'interno presenta una termofodera di materiali sintetici di colore nera mista a rete di nylon nella zona delle tasche ventrali. Un consiglio, proprio da parte della OTTEGEAR è quello di usare le tasche ventrali come "prese d'aria" per ventilare la giacca.

A completare il tutto è presente un generoso cappuccio, ripiegabile ed inseribile all'interno del collo, ampio e morbido.

La regolazione della misura avviene tramite minuterie in plastica per la parte centrale e superiore, a mezzo di velcro ai polsi.

Una volta ripiegata su se stessa, occupa uno spazio irrisorio all'interno ad uno zaino "3day" e può tranquillamente sostituire i comuni gorotex a cui siamo abituati.
When folded on itselfs, the jacket, get a small place into a normal 3-day pack and can easily replace the bigger goretex jacket.


Alpine Trouser - Alpha Green

 

I pantaloni, sono realizzati al 100% in polyestere, molto leggeri, presentano specifiche molto più semplici di quelle offerte dalla giacca.
Innanzitutto, non c'è fodera interna.
Sono presenti due grosse tasche cargo con chiusura tramite automatici in metallo (non molto comodi da azionare, ma di sicura efficacia) e due tasche ai fianchi, chiudibili tramite cerniera.

The pants are made from 100% polyester, very light, with less specific compared with those offered by the jacket. And there is not inner lining.
There are two large cargo pockets with metal automatics closure (not very east to operate, but almost secure) and two pockets at the hips, with zipper.

 

La parte più interessante riguarda sicuramente la presenza di un sistema di bretelle, regolabili e removibili.

Sono presenti i passanti per cintura, larghi abbastanza da farci passare all'interno una duty belt (cosa fatta durante la prova sul campo).

Sulle ginocchia le cuciture sono modellate per garantire il massimo comfort.

On the knees, the seams are shaped to provide better comfort.

 

Al fondo, la gamba può essere regolata tramite due automatici in metallo, poco sotto una fettuccia che permetterebbe, usando un pò di paracord, di bloccare i pantaloni al di sotto degli scarponi o degli anfibi.

On the bottom, the pant's leg can be adjusted through two automatic metal buttons, just below the webbing that can be used, with some paracord, to block the trousers under the boots.

 

Una volta ripiegati, occupano ovviamente meno spazio, rispetto alla giacca.
One times folded, it takes less space than the jacket, obviously.


La prova sul campo - The Field Test

 

La prova sul campo è avvenuta forse in ritardo, rispetto all'inverno vero e proprio.
La temperatura esterna registrata è stata di -3 gradi, con lieve corrente fredda costante ed umidità al 70%.
Al di sotto del completo OTTEGEAR, un completo di maglia e pantaloni Under Armor Cold Gear.
Il game, della durata di 5 ore, mi ha permesso di rilevare l'efficacia con cui il completo ha mantenuto costante la temperatura,
tanto da potermi rendere conto del freddo esterno solamente nel punto tra la giacca ed i guanti, dove parte del polso viene a trovarsi parzialmente scoperta.
Dopo 5 ore di gioco, ho potuto constatare le elevata traspirabilità del capo in questione ed i rovi presenti sul campo hanno ampiamente messo alla prova la resistenza dei tessuti e delle cuciture.

The field test has probably occurred in late, respect to the real winter.

Il costo del sistema è abbastanza alto: 350,00€ per la giacca e 250,00€ per i pantaloni.

VALUTAZIONE FINALE
PRO: Completo leggero, traspirante, comodo, resistente. Adatto a tutte le attività all'aria aperta ed a tutte le tipologie di utilizzo, anche le più rudi.
CONTRO: Prodotto difficile da reperire, costo non propriamente economico.

FINAL EVALUATION:
VALUE UP: Lightweight, breathable, comfortable, durable. Suitable for all outdoor activities and all types of use, even the toughest.
VALUE DOWN: hard to find, high cost.
